Onionring was started up in 2004 by brothers Daniel and Nick Maycock. Initially as a guide to Cheshire, the guide has now grown to cover the whole of the North West. The design of the site has evolved and our current site design was launched on Jan 28th 2008.

Daniel's role is in marketing and sales while Nick operates the technical aspects and the website design service.

The number of visitors using the site has reached over 100,000 each month, with over 2500 businesses listed. Geographically the scope of the site is continuing to expand as word continues to spread about the service and the return advertisers get from an advert on onionring.
