Da Piero Cuisine: Italian

Da Piero is an authentic Italian restaurant set in the heart of Irby Village on the Wirral. Established in 2005 it is a favourite with many discerning diners whom appreciate high quality fine dining. Whilst many of their ingredients continue to be imported directly from Italy, local produce has also been sourced to match chef Piero’s exacting standards. This is truly an exciting place to eat and their hand picked wine list offers choice for everyone.

Elegant yet relaxed atmosphere, with food prepared to order, the table is yours for the evening and you will not be in a rush to leave! Booking highly recommended.

Da Piero are experts in group bookings and the whole restaurant can be hired for private dining on any day including Sundays and Mondays. Ideal for family meals or private parties.

We have extended our restaurant, giving us the opportunity to accommodate more diners, whilst retaining the same high quality food and service. Here at Da Piero we take great pride in offering authentic Italian cuisine in welcoming surroundings!

Rachel, Prenton 03/03/2011 Truly amazing Italian food. A lovely little restaurant with relaxed service and food that was as good as I have tasted in Italy...I will be going again soon!

Paul, Prenton 18/05/2010 I recently visited May 2010 to find friendly staff, excellent food and great wine list at reasonable prices. To top off the evening the Chef came down and greeted every table personally. My table was mine for the evening and I was left alone to enjoy my food and company. I will definitely be returning.

Mr & Mrs M Andrew 27/04/2010 Dinner tonight at Da Piero a lovely experience! From the very pleasant welcome and delightful ambiance to the truly excellent food,we enjoyed everything! We are looking forward to our next visit!

Chris Barnston Wirral 06/02/2010 I recently attended Da Piero with a group of friends who are all learning Italian together and we where a party of 12. Dawn and Piero made us extremely welcome and we all agreed the meal we had was the best Italian Food we had tasted in the area. The food consisted of exceptionally good, fresh and extremely tasty ingredients very well cooked and all the dishes had a great authenticity to them many of the recipes no doubt coming from Piero's family and friends in Italy. The puddings where also to die for especially the ciocciolatte semifreddo which was extremely rich and smooth but melted in the mouth and obviously was made from extremely good chocolate and no doubt this will be extremely popular on Valentines Day. They also serve the best italian espresso for miles around and deserve the accolades they have received in the Good Food Guide and Michelin.

James Beiny 02/01/2010 I thoroughly enjoyed the authentic and traditional Sicilian based re-fined Italian food that they served at Da Piero's. My first course was the Spaghetti alle Vongole, which was exquisite, and is probably one of the best spaghetti dishes I've ever had. I then had the Seafood Platter to follow, which was again as delicious as delicious can be (beautifully cooked seafood, with quality olive oil to compliment nicely). For dessert, I tried/tasted both the Tiramisu and the Cannolo Siciliano, which were to sum up, pure indulgences. I especially liked the filling of the Cannolo Siciliano. The chef is very generous with his servings of each dish, which is another bonus of the restaurant. Compliments to Piero! The all-around service was great (very friendly and efficient), with the limited seating providing very decent and immediate attendance for those present. If you are looking and longing for good, traditional hearty Italian cuisine, this is definitely the place to go to. You will not regret your visit to Da Piero's.

Mark Lester, London 12/09/2009 I live in London and ate at Da Piero whilst at home visiting my parents. Was absolutely amazed at the quality of the food here, one of the best restaurants I've been to anywhere in the UK. Cosy, intimate and wonderfully unpretentious Italian cooking.

Michelle Foulia, Roses Tea Rooms,Heswall 04/09/2009 wow! what can i say? This is our little gem of the Wirral. This is the place my husband and i escape to when we want an excellent homecooked meal with top notch ingredients, amazing wines and absolutely top class service. We feel cared for and nothing is ever too much trouble. I have never met a chef as passionate as Piero, every tiny detail is looked at his ingredients are those you would find in the most expensive 'fine food' restaurants but here they are presented simply, lovingly, generous portions and no fuffing! This family is deserving of all awards! Well done guys

Jim Lester, Heswall 31/07/2009 Wonderful meal with the star dish being the sicilian beef which has been marinated overnight.Fantastic selection of wines which are very good value.

Sandra Scott 01/07/2009 I had the most beautiful meal this evening at Da Piero. I knew it would be excellent as I had been before but what I am particularly pleased about is the excellent service I received as I made a booking for 11 people and the care, attention and level of planning given to us was incredible. We communicated by email extensively prior to the evening and Dawn one of the owners knew everyone's meal choice and addressed everyone by name. The restaurant is delightfully intimate and the quality of the ingredients is excellent.Sandra Scott,Foreign languages tutor at Wirral Met

linda shone, heswall 22/04/2009 The restaurant mirrored a Mediterranean family home with tables which were simple but elegantly decorated. The food was prepared with passion, tradition and pride. The service was faultless with welcomed conversation at a respectful distance. I will definitely return, it was a great place to indulge.

Wirral 21/04/2009 We eat out regularly and have an extensive experience of restaurants ranging from very poor to brilliant. Da Piero is a well deserved brilliant rating in our view. We watch and cook every type of cuisine and were very excited when we discovered Da Piero. The quality of ingredients is second to none and the price is excellent. This is a little gem in Irby and we selfishly would like to keep it to ourselves but understand it should be celebrated as it is well deserved. Dawn is a brilliant hostess while Pero is a chef who has a respect for the ingredients that is showcased in his delightful dishes. Fantastic!!!

Mrs Hendry 11/04/2009 This was our second visit and it was excellent once again. Food and service are both superb. We look forward to another visit soon!

Savanna and Gavin 23/03/2009 We have been to Da Piero twice now and both times were fantastic, the food is absolutely stunning, the atmosphere relaxed and the owners and staff are very friendly. We both thoroughly enjoyed it, we are definitely planning to go back soon and would recommend it to anyone.

Charles & Angela, Warrington 13/03/2009 Perfect food prepared and served with passion. Great relaxed atmosphere with friendly hosts who take great pride in their vocation. truly a joy to visit.

felicity appleton warrington 11/03/2009 i went to da piero's for my 21st birthday with my family.dawn & piero made it a very special evening.the food was as always excellent & the staff made it a lovely experience.

Steven & Lee, Wallasey 16/02/2009 We've been twice now and both my wife and I really enjoyed the place. Food is excellent and plenty of variety. The new chocolate dessert is excellent and a must for all chocolate lovers (my wife). Dawn and Piero are both very friendly, with both taking the time to talk to their customers, something sadly lacking from most restaurants these days.

Tom Robinson Newcastle 10/01/2009 What a find! Real food at a reasonable price in a small but immaculate restaurant. The menu and wine list is exceptionally good and obviously formed from the personal knowledge and experience of the owners (who are always friendly and as chatty as you would like them to be. This is a must visit restaurant for anyone who loves fine Italian food and wine.

Tom, Northwich 03/01/2009 Absolutely brilliant food in a lovely environment. It makes a fantastic change to experience genuine Italian recipes, rather than the generic menus found elsewhere. Highly recommended!

Chris and Kate - Manchester 02/01/2009 Staying with our friends on the Wirral for new Years eve, we decided to eat out and we chose to go to Da Piero. We had a an absolutely wonderful evening that in truth really made 2008 for us both. We often eat out as a couple, in fact it's kind of our hobby, but we have to say that everything about the Da Piero experience is first class from start to finish. The ambiance, the food, the service were all superb. One of the best Italian experiences we have ever had. We totally recommend this restaurant to people who really want a truly great night, who love there food and who want the best italian experience without affording an expensive plane fare.

Stuart Heswall 30/12/2008 Superb real Italian food cooked with passion by the owner and served by his wife. Each course held its own merit, however, the seafood misto as a main course was outstanding. In fact the whole meal wasn't just the best Italian food we have had outside Italy, it was the best meal out we have had in a long time

Jane, West Kirby 16/10/2008 Vado pazzo per il Ristorante da Piero, Irby!! This is, without doubt, the best, most genuine Italian restaurant I have ever visited in this country. It is, I have to say, better than my favourite near Lucca. Wonderful to find food with ingredients located with such care and prepared by a chef with such genuine passion for his craft. Bliss as well to find just what you ordered on the plate, not covered by a mound of salad, etc., etc. You can relax for the evening - Piero, Dawn and staff charming, attentive (but not over-the-top) and friendly. THIS RESTAURANT IS A GEM.

Nicholas Gainey 31/08/2008 A great find. Great service, reasonable prices, friendly and most importantly - great food. highly recommended. Thankyou - I hope to see you again soon.

Ann & Lorraine, Bebington 11/08/2008 We visited Da Piero for the first time and enjoyed the fresh food and cosy atmosphere very much. The restuarant is quite small and welcoming, cosy but not squashed. Dawn was very helpful in explaining what the Scicilian dishes consisted of. This is not your usual restaurant, no garlic bread or pizzas to be seen very interesting menu and very tasty food. The danger with writing a good review is then when we want to go again, it will be booked up by you readers!!

k. stacey, leigh 03/08/2008 A gem of a restaurant. A real find. Wonderful food. Superb, unusual wines. Attentive, competent staff. No rush-no pressure. In true Sicilian style, you can make an evening of it. Well worth travelling for.

R&T - Wirral 31/07/2008 A perfect, genuine, Italian restaurant. All food is superbly fresh and cooked to order by Piero. This is REAL Italian food as they eat it, rather than an ersatz freezer-to-microwave English approximation. A lovely atmosphere in which to eat a lovely meal. Highly recommended.

(Google Translate says... ... capitati to work in moreton we found this small but ECCEZZIONALE restaurant ... What can we say thanks to Piero and Dawn that with their hospitality and professionalism we did not regret Italy!)

Jen & Kev, Irby 09/06/2008 This restaurant is an absolute must for lovers of Italian food. It is by far the best we've had in England and better than many in Italy. Great winelist, and the olive oil is superb. Definitely one to return to, and to recommend.

Dave & Jill 09/02/2008 A superb evening, Dawn made us realy welcome from the moment we walked in a lovely lady. Fab food and wine, the olive oil is a dream. This restaurant is a must for Italian food/wine lovers Thank you Dawn and Piero

Mrs Sherrill Tacy 02/02/2008 Excellent service, Excellent food, excellent wines, beautiful ambiance, would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Ken & June Orpington Kent 18/01/2008 We were introduced to de Piero during a visit to friends who are lucky enough to live within walking distance of the restaurant. After a long drive from the South East and a tour of Merseyside visiting family it was a pleasure to relax in the intimate surroundings and catch up with each other. The unique wine list offers wines especially imported, maney of them new to us but Dawn guided us to an excellant bottle or two. We were all pleased with our choice of food and I can particularly recommend the freshly made ravioli. Everything was perfect and Dawn and her team were exttemely attentive and friendly. Shame it's not in Kent (perhaps they will move) See you on our next visit and thanks to Allan & Ann for introducing us.

Paul + Scottie, New Brighton 03/12/2007 Da Piero is friendly restaurant serving top quality Sicilian/Italian food. We have eaten here wih friends many times over the past 6 months. You are greeted by Dawn, the wife of chef Piero - both charming people who make you feel so welcome. Dawn and her team offer great service in a calm and relaxed way. The food is always fresh and delicious. We can recommend every starter/main course we have eaten here. Piero often comes out to talk to customers. He has a passion for great food products, and sources some extra special ingredients from Sicily. This restaurant is a gem on the Wirral - miss out at you peril!

John & Bern, Heswall 30/11/2007 We love this restaurant, and so do our friends. This is the best Italian food we have had outside Italy. The food, ambience and service are excellent. The house red is recommended. This is gourmet Italian food. The prices are very reasonable.

Dave and Liz Kerr - Liverpool 23/11/2007 On 5th October it was our anniversary and we couldnt have asked for anything better. The owners treated us just like we were family. The food is out of this world. You should try it and see for yourself. It is only small restaurant but if you love traditional italian food then you will love Da Piero

Joanna Colwyn Bay 08/10/2007 Da Piero could not have been more helpful in assisting our reunion. The food was delicious, the recommended wines very palatable and the service attentive and flexible. The evening was without fault, very relaxed and a great success.

poppa john 11/09/2007 Da Pieros is our favourite restaurant of all time. It really is a family run restaurant with Piero, Dawn and son Alan. Its so good we bought a house in the village!! No only kidding but when we moved here from over the water and found Da Pieros we settled in with ease. The food is exquisite, the house wine is lovely and the service is wonderful. We take our 3 year old Grandson and he sits there captivated by Dawn who is the wife in the partnership (Piero the husband is the chef). There`s plenty of free on street parking(don`t tell the council), with 2 Pubs in the village if you want an apperitif. All our friends who have been there are now regulars. John, Sylvia and not forgetting Noah.

Douglas 25/07/2007 Every time I go to the Wirral, I make a beeline for Da Piero - fabulous food, friendly service and wine that you cannot find anywhere else. if this Heaven, I will go today!

Laura - Liverpool 24/07/2007 Oh what a special evening we had! Da Piero is superb, right from the moment we entered; the welcome and service were excellent. The surroundings are delightful. The authentic Italian food has to be tasted to appreciate how exceptional it is. We will recommend without hesitation to anybody searching for, in our opinion, the finest Italian Restaurant.

K.Billington Liverpool 24/07/2007 Da Piero, is too much of a well kept secret for those who want to keep this amazing little restaurant to themselves. The food is excellent, the wine sublime and the owners are so obviously proud of their ingredients. Especially in a day and age where we all want to know where our food comes from. This is Italian food like you have never known (unless you frequent Tuscany) and the service is attentive (but not overly) and friendly. These people know their food and want to share it with you... Give them a Michelin star someone

Antonio - Wallasey 22/06/2007 This is by far the best Italian restaurant I have been to outside of Italy. I have worked for 15 years in restaurants across Wirral and rarely came across this type of quality. The attention to details in preparing the food is simply wonderful.
