Just back from a gorgeous meal at sokrates. We had the mezze, it was amazing. Would highly recommend this restaurant for the great food, the service and the chilled out atmosphere.

Visited on July 20th 2012. I was in a group of twelve. We ordered the Meze and were amazed by the amount and different types of dishes that were served. All well cooked and beautifully presented. The staff were very friendly and the whole experience good. Would recommend its good value for money. We will be returning soon.

First visit here on Tuesday and certainly won't be my last. Not often you see a full restaurant on a Tuesday along with efficient and knowledgeable service (from one waiter!). The four of us had the Meze platter which was amazing and consisted of three courses of dips, kebabs, stews, moosaka and other delicious treats. A hidden gem of a restaurant and am looking forward to returning!

The best restaurant in Sale. Whilst the food is exceptional (I can't recommend the meze enough - the food just keeps coming!), it's bettered by the service from the very friendly owner and staff who make you feel like it's home from home. I've lived in Sale all my life and can't believe I only discovered this place relatively recently. Go - you'll have a brilliant evening.

Wemt to Sokrates last night and had a really positive experience, We booked late and must have got the last table as the place was packed. We opted for the Meze and were not disappointed, the selection of foods was excellent and plenty of it, in fact towards the end of the meal we were asked several times if we wanted any more of any of the dishes sampled, we said no as we wanted to save some room for the cheesecake, so many people have recommended, and Wow it was good, having eaten at the 'cheesecake factory' (Americas premier cheesecake restaurants) in the states, i can honestly say, the texture nd taste of this was simply sublime, i would recommend to anyone. We used the 20% off voucher from onionring and the meal for two came to £49 including drinks and coffee, which i thought was pretty good, Having travelled for an hour to get there, it was definitely worth the trip and we will surely going back, just wish we lived closer to Sale!!

We started coming to Socrates about 5 years ago, and always have a fabulous meal. We usually opt for the Meze, which we would recommend everyone should try. Very family orientated, brilliant food, warm welcome.

We ate at Sokrates last night, and the food was amazing. We ordered the Greek Meze banquet, and had dips, dolmathes, falafel, pitta bread, different types of souvlaki, greek sausage, mousakka, lamb, beef - so much food, and all fantastic! We'll be back again - the guy that served us (possibly the manager im not sure) was very friendly, described all of the food so we knew what we were eating. The restaurant is quite rustic, which I loved, as it reminded me of so many Greek holidays... loved it!

We have been wanting to try Sokrates for a while so we took the plunge this evening & we've got to say it was well worth it we had a meze between us & it was stunning (highly recommended) the staff/service were spot on!!!! Can't wait for our next visit!

I have been to this restaurant several times usually with a fairly large party. The staff are very friendly. helpful and the service first class. The food is better than the food I have had in Greece and would not hesitate recommending this restaurant to anyone. We have always had the set meal and the starters are amazing and very filling so much so that we can't manage much of the main courses.

This is a superb place - the food is divine. Everything is freshly prepared at the time of ordering and tastes amazing. Their home-made creamy cheesecake (have it with strawberry compote) is to die for, definitely the best I've ever had (and I've tried so many cheesecakes before). This place is a treasure and should definitely be experiences for some very authentic Greek cuisine run by a Greek family....

We went to Sokrates last Saturday night and it was our first time going to this Taverna. We found the service to be excellent and the food was extremely good. The staff are helpful and the service was prompt. I would recommend this place to anyone!!

As always, the staff at Sokrates pulled off a great night out for the mezze I had the pleasure to share last night. The food was delicious; the dishes offered were of an amazing variety and the staff were pleasant and very helpful. 10/10 !

just been to eat again at sokrates and as ever it was just great. the minute you walk in and greeted by lovely Greek waiters and waitresses the feeling of being on a far away Greek island is truly wonderful. the menu is extensive and the food is delicious albeit large portions . if you enjoy the Greek tavernas of Greece you'll love SOKRATES

Great restaurant, went with some friends on a Sunday afternoon, had a good turnover of customers and was a friendly welcoming place.
The Food was brilliant, if you like Greek food you will love this place, as good as anything that i have eaten in Greece, the banquet is well worth the money and you get so much choice and a wide range of tastes and experiences.

My friends and I visited at the beginning of December, and used the offer. We all had the mezze and ordered additional wine on top of the free wine, the bill was exceptionally reasonable and the service was friendly, quick and all the dishes were explained. I have recommended the offer and the restaurant to others and will definitely be visiting again.

My husband and I went to Sokrates last week. We opted for the Meze at £16.50 a head. Fantastic value for money!! There was that much food we ended up bringing a doggie bag home!!!! Would highly recommend - great food & service >:O)

My fiance and I visited this restaurant a couple of weeks ago based on the good reviews it had received. The food was very nice and fresh. The house wine was also very enjoyable. The owners Son was serving and although friendly was a bit imposing. Nice surroundings. Would definately visit again.

Fabulous meal for four which was very reasonably priced. The vegetarian selection was excellent - I loved the Gigantes and the vegetable lachmacun and can recommend the Kleftiko for the meat eaters. Service was excellent - highly recommended
