Our party of four visited the Fools Nook on Saturday evening and the entire experience was faultless.
We dine out most weekends and I can honestly say that the Fools Nook is one of the best in the area.
Steven Prentice, Leek
Very good and friendly service. A small mix up was fixed very fast and very nicely. A lovely warm place.

I took my time to visit the fools nook last thursday and i enjoyed my time here so much i returned again tonight. The chef cooked wonderful food on both occasions on which i chose from the specials board. To accompany this great food was the waiting on staff including Nick who was great to have a conversation with.
i have recomended this pub to many friends and family
5*

What a fantastic menu - choice was hard to make. Reccomend the Thai Crab cakes and the Gammon. All staff excellent and friendly definitely going again.

Visited the Fools Nook for Saturday lunch. Fantastic range of food, all locally produced. Had a well presented and tasty Venison burger, highly recommended. Very attentive and friendly waitress Lucy.

Visited this pub early evening on a hot day in June. Beer garden is fantastic place to relax and soak up the sun. Staff were excellent and very welcoming, especially the Chef/Owner and his wife. Had an amazing 2 course meal, the menu was varied and catered for all tastes. Would highly recommend the smoked salmon and prawns dish, I have never come across this on a menu before and it was absolutely delightful!
Overall fantastic venue, brilliant staff and incredible food - well worth a visit.

My partner and I recently took my mum to the Fools Nook for her birthday. We had a delicious leisurely, late lunch, with free wine and birthday cake! Great service and value for money...definitely worth a visit!

On a long journey home my wife and I stopped off at the Fools Nook. It was Late on and the restaurant was nearing the end of day but still the owners said there would be no problem getting us a meal sorted out. I must say here that the food was delicious and the service of the staff was THE BEST. We shall be returning in the not to distant future. Thanks again to the proprietors and staff.

4 of us went to the Fools Nook on a Wednesday. Was quiet but we were greeted by very friendly landlord who got us all drinks etc. Starters were superb (Thai Prawns). Main course was even better - 2 massive fat steaks cooked to perfection, delicious sauces and excellent chips and 2 huge lamb on the bone dishes with sauce. Brilliant food and excellent value. Speaking to the landlord it seems he has plans for the place and with the decor spruced up this place will become one definitely not to miss.

The new owners of the Fools Nook are delightful people, who made my husband and I very welcome on a recent visit. The food was excellent and the staff were pleasant and attentive. A second visit last weekend was just as good. Well done and Good Luck.

I first experienced the place when I stopped for some lunch on the way back from Macclesfield, I was so impressed with the food that I have been back a few times. The food is fantastic, not expensive and you are served good sized portions. The staff are very welcoming and helpful and the whole place has a warm atmosphere. I'd highly recommend this pub to everyone.

Have visited twice recently, and both the food and the front of house service was impeccable. On both occasions we only managed 2 courses as the portions are large, 1 main course would suffice but all 3 courses are well worth a try. Would definitely recommend and have done. Will return again and again.

Delightful! We stopped by chance for a quick bite to eat but when we saw the menu we ended up having a full main and a desert! The fish, chips and mushy peas were gorgeous and the currys are great too!! would thoroughly recommend this pub to anyone for a traditional country meal. 5***

What a hidden gem! We stopped in for a meal last Monday night (16/08) after a long day at Alton towers. The food was fab and the service was faultless. We were taken to our table and received service with a smile throughout, a rare treat! Will be calling again soon!

What a brilliant place, the food was to die for my partner and I went for a meal without the kids and came across this place. We both had the lamb shamk and I can honestly say it was the best lamb I had tasted. Thanks to all the staff and of course the chef we will definitely be returning.

Lovely meal, lovely people, but thought that the place could do with a clean(the carpet) and a lick of paint.

A fantastic pub with great food and staff alike. I advise booking beforehand as the pub obviously gets very busy, a lovely place to dine out in a relaxed and extremely friendly atmosphere.

This is one of the best places to eat locally. I have visted several times and each day the food , service and cleanliness have been superb . Today we had the battered cod which is the best cod I ever tasted . Highly recommended

I went into The Fools Nook today after a walk at nearby Teggs Nose. As I expected the food was excellant and the service also. I knew this would be the case as I used to work for Peter and Pat at the Jolly Thresher in Lymm. I highly recommend it to anyone.

I would like to thanks Pat and (Chef) McGrath and their team for a most enjoyable evening which had me drinking a dram of Oban as a nightcap just to delay my departure. The food is excellent, but it is the people who make the atmosphere and ambience.
michelle, macclesfield
great food, great service, great atmosphere for both larger groups and couples.

The management of the Fools Nook recently took it over after successfully running the acclaimed Hanging Gate a few miles away but not so conveniently located for passing trade as is the FN. Consequently only in-the-know locals had previously accessed their high quality food and beer with friendly and considerate service. I particularly liked their rib-eye steak. The blurb here says no booking required but my advice is to avoid disappointment and give them a ring beforehand. It's already heaving at lunchtime and could be so in the evening but I've not yet had the opportunity of evening dining.

Great pub! I use to live near to the fools nook till I moved to the isle of man.
