I went to Samsi for my daughters 10th birthday, and have never found a restaurant more hospitable. So much so my daughter now doesn't want to eat anywhere else!lol. Thank you for making her birthday so memorable.

I have been over to Japan twice and this is authentic Japanese food at its best. When you go in you are made to feel like a family friend, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff or Simon. The ingredients used are the finest and it is a perfect evening out as you are never rushed (none of this two sittings). It is our favourite restaurant and we have been going there since around the time it first opened about 16 years ago. We look forward to going there many times in the future.
Wilmslow
I took my girlfriend to Samsi in Wilmslow having lived here for a year and a half not ever knowing there was a Japanese restaurant just up the road!
We booked a table for 2 upstairs, it was completely and utterly relaxing, the whole atmosphere was lovely, but it was the food that blew me away A*, will be returning very soon and many times after that.
Anika from Manchester
Simon is one of the best hosts I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. So friendly and genuine!
On top of this the food is excellent. There is a great open kitchen so all the sounds and smells highten the anticipation of what will be a great meal!

Dinner for two. Both had the £13.95 per head 3 course set menu. All 6 dishes were delicious and the service was prompt, polite and friendly. Will definitely be back.

Wilmslow
Have been to Samsi in Wilmslow many times over the last five years and have always had a fantastic time. The quality of the food and the service is always consistently high – never once have I had a bad experience. There has always been a wide choice of items on the menu, the prices are very reasonable and the whole experience is fantastic. I enjoy taking friends there who do not usually go for Japanese cuisine – eachone has commented on how good it was and that they will be going again.
Excellent food, excellent experience.

Love Samsi full stop - when I worked in Manchester I used to go to the Samsi there and thought it was great - when I then started working in Wilmslow I was delighted to find that there was a Samsi here too - have already been a few times and in fact am going tonight -
As mentioned by other readers, Simon is always fun going and does add to the over all experience.
Would definitely recommend to everyone for any occassion.

went for the first time and from the moment we walked through the door we where treated like old friends the manager simon is fantastic, we choose the early diner offer 3 courses for £10 and have to say it was fantastic value and i would say get down there now before the offer ends at the end of september, we will be going a lot more to this restaurant as its a little gem in wilmslow.

Myself any my husband went to Samsi last night, yum yum yum. Such a great little find !! Service excellent, food amazing will go back again and again. Food was so simple yet so tasty, and satisfying. My husband is more adventurous on the food side then me, so he his favourite sashimi - which he absolutely loved, said was just like the food in Japan. For those who think Japanese is just fish (which I thought it was) rest assured I don't eat fish and they offer plenty of choices to suit all tastes, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The decor isnt the most impressive, but you can sit upstairs which is traditional sitting on the floor or downstairs is modern seating. My husband is 6'4 so the floor seating wasnt ideal for him - but it looked nice x
simon .. alderley edge

My 10 year old son was desperate to try Japanese food for the first time, so I took took him to Samsi Yakatori. Great food, great atmosphere and the staff couldn't have been any nicer - I've promised my son we'll return and sit on the floor next time!

I have been visiting Samsi in Manchester city centre as well as the one in Wilmslow regularly for two years, the food is amazing and amazingly priced. I suggest trying Manchester on a Sunday afternoon. Samsi provide a set menu for a fixed price, of which you an re order parts of at no extra cost !!! that's if you can eat any more. Amazing atmosphere and service. I strongly recommend a visit.
