Tucked away in the idyllic setting of Altrincham’s Goose Green, ‘The House’ is a friendly, family run restaurant led by head chef and owner Adam Wilde.
With an appetite for fresh ingredients and local produce, the menu is brimming with seasonal flavours and offers an appealing mix of English and French dishes.
As well as a daily ‘specials board’ to delight the most food savvy of diners, signature dishes include The House Wellington and Grilled John Dory.
Fish lovers take note, Adam picks the fresh fish every week to ensure there is always a satisfying selection on the menu; “Fancy Tornedo Rossini or Dressed Crab? Request it when booking and we will do our best to arrange it – subject to market availability”, says Adam.
And not to forget those with a sweet tooth, be sure to save room for a homemade dessert which range from Eton Mess (homemade meringue, whipped cream and strawberries) to Raspberry & White Chocolate Cheesecake.
Open for both lunch and dinner, the afternoon menu offers a tempting selection of fresh salads, sandwiches, jackets, wraps and toasted paninis, plus a choice of a la carte dishes.
A freshly made Lamb Hot Pot makes a welcomed winter warmer for lunch and word on the street has it that Jon, the restaurant manager, makes a fabulous cappuccino and a luxurious hot chocolate – perfect for those in need of an afternoon pick me up!
Exemplary of his personal approach, Adam is keen to emphasize that special requests are happily catered for, whether it’s Lobster for twelve or simply Cod and Chips. The House will also cater for dietary needs.
And for those diners who don’t fancy ending the evening after the customary cappuccino, step across to the new wine bar next door and sample a cheeky cocktail (or two!).
