Azad Manzil was one of the first family-run restaurants to open in Manchester. It’s been in that same family since 1964, serving award-winning Indian cuisine to curry lovers from across the UK. Over the years the restaurant has won many awards and acclaim from all over, including Manchester Curry Chef and Indian restaurant National finalist.

Although the restaurant is heaped in tradition the interior is bright and modern with a warm feel.

The food is cooked by award wining chefs, to family recipes which have been passed on through the generations to the current owner. Along side the traditional curry dishes you will fine some 'Chef Recommendations', why not try a South Indian Garlic Chicken, or a Nepal Dish for a change?

Outside catering is a speciality - and Azad Manzil can now offer delivery on all orders over £12.

I can highly recommend Azad Manzil Restaurant in Chorlton - it offers so much more great food, variety and attention to detail than anywhere in the Curry Mile and is well worth visiting. The welcome, ambiance and, of course, the food is second to none. This is a traditional restaurant that has been established for over 40 years and is still owned and run by the same family. Our many visits to the restaurant always leave us feeling pleasantly full and content and with so much choice I have a new favourite dish each time. Last night I chose the Fish Jalrazi - beautifully cooked cubes of white Bhag (Tiger Fish) prepared with ginger, garlic, green chillies and coriander and served with pillau rice and salad - perfection on a plate! To top off the evening the owner of the restaurant serenaded us with his Sitar, playing wonderful soulful music he had composed himself. We enjoyed it so much we have suggested regular live music nights at the Azad Manzil so watch this space!!

The food is excellent, the service friendly, I am always amazed that the restaurant is never full - it deserves to be! - The home delivery service is excellent too! - I do recommend the manzil to all my friends.

We went to Azad Manzil for the first time and we will definitely be back! The friendly staff were really helpful, the manager recommended some delicious starters and was happy to explain any of the dishes we asked about - all made using traditional, real ingredients. Portions were generous, leaving us plenty to take away and enjoy the next day :) Highly recommended!

Me and my family went to Azad Manzil this evening for a birthday meal, as we have done many times before, and could not fault anything about the place, especially the service. The host is always extremely welcoming, and the food (especially the chef's speciality dishes) are so far away from the generic and tedious dishes served up on the curry mile that many people believe is what curry should be. Definitely the place to eat in Chorlton.

A friend recommended Azad Manzil to me in Chorlton, and I thought it would be a good idea to go with a group for night out. It was a wonderful evening, the atmosphere was great and the staff were very friendly. As an Asian Muslim, I was extremely pleased with the variety of halal food on the menu. My friends and I had a fun evening, the food was superb and of great portions! Definitely 10 out of 10!

My girlfriend and I used the early bird special offer last week and Azad Manzil was a treat! The price was brilliant, the staff were incredibly friendly (always smiling) and the food...the food was superb. We will certainly be returning!

We lived in Chorlton for over 15 years and have had many great meals at Azad's. We moved out of the area (the edge of the Peak District) more than five years ago but still visit Azad's regularly... because we love it! The curries are always first class and the friendliness of everyone at the restaurant makes Azad's special. Service is prompt but you never feel rushed. Others have mentioned how well they cater for groups and parties but we particularly like the cosy booths. All in all, we wouldn't choose anywhere else for a curry in Manchester!

we went to this restaurant to celebrate a wedding anniversary and had a great night the manager and his staff could not do enough for us . i requested a meal not on the menu and they did not hesitate to prepare it for me . we will definitely be returning again and we do not hesitate to recommend this restaraunt

We went with a small group of just 8 of us for a friend's farewell before they moved out of Manchester. The meal and restaurant could not have been a better choice even if we had know. The atmosphere was so nice, the owner obviously genuinely cares. As it was quite quiet and we were obviously a group of good friends he asked if we wouldn't mind if he tried something new out with us. His new idea was to cook one of our curries right there at the table and it worked brilliantly well. He cooked one of the dishes right in front of us and really made the night something special.

If you are a good group of friends wanting a nice meal with something a bit different then I would certainly recommend this place ... and would certainly ask whether he would cook something at the table

The Azad Manzil is a great traditional curry house. We started going every week this summer and we have never had a bad meal. It is reasonably priced and the staff are really friendly, particularly the owner. One of the few curry houses to offer Phal curries. They don't charge extra for chutneys and lime pickle is included, unlike another curry house near by. Highly recommended.

We came to this restaurant after seeing an six-course meal special offer online. When we arrived it turned out that they hadn't initiated the offer yet, however rather than decline us, the owner/chef agreed to do a special tapas style meal for us, as we had only come for the offer. When it came it was enormous - six dishes of mains, rice, naan, and starters all of which were cooked perfectly and delicious. He couldn't have been more accomodating and showed great pride in his work by coming out twice to check on our opinions of his food, even though it was on a discounted menu. I would advise everyone to try this place it is a rarity that such good food and service go hand in hand. Not only that but the place has real character and you have the option of a semi-closed off private booth to eat in. I honestly cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant, I shall certainly be going back.

Excellent food having tried other restaurants. It is the only Curry Restaurant in Chorlton that I've eaten in where it it serves 100% pure white chicken breast in it's superb selection of it's dishes.
