The restaurant name ‘Cu’ is derived from the chemical element for copper, this metal is extensively used within the restaurant, adding to the contemporary yet warming feel.
Our philosophy is simple: ‘Welcome guests as friends, serve inspiring food and always exceed expectations.’
Cu is within the Hillcrest Hotel, Cheshire. Head chef Andrew Ferguson, and his team are proud to deliver seasonal menus showcasing innovative modern cuisine. Carefully crafted dishes, with traditional inspiration, modern presentation and are complimented by a simple, attentive yet relaxed service, along with a balanced wine list, our restaurant has the ideal surroundings for enjoying intimate dining to larger special occasions.
NB: Monday to Friday the Restaurant will open at lunchtimes for pre-booked parties only.

on the 15th september 2012 me, my partner and two of are friends went to the cu restaurant at the hillcrest hotel widnes. me and my partner had eaten at the restaurant before and want to show are friends as it had been refurbished and looked new and fresh.
when we walked into the restaurant we was welcomed by a young female who showed us to are table, the restaurant was very busy unlike last time we had been there.
we all had a 3 course meal which was fantastic, i had the duck which i would really recommend as it was cooked perfect!! i would just like to say thank you to the chef as we never got to thank him in person.
on this night there was only two staff in and one of them was a manager called dean who we have spoke to at the cu restaurant before, i would like to say that you to dean and his staff member who made us feel very welcome.
i would recommend your try this restaurant.

I visited the Cu Restaurant at the weekend, and have to say how great my whole experience was. From the welcoming atmosphere from staff to the inventive and full of flavour food delivered to our table. The whole meal was perfect and there was something for everybody. I would definitely visit again and would recommend to everyone!

We survived Saturday night and I’m writing to express our grateful thanks to you for all the effort you put in to make the event go smoothly.
Everybody was very complimentary about the buffet, the DJ played all the right stuff, the breakfast hit the spot and all the staff were helpful and supportive and did all they could to make sure that people had an enjoyable evening.

I visited CU with my husband, our son and his partner on Friday the 13th.
I can honestly say there was nothing unlucky on that day. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special and this continued throughout the evening. The service was outstanding being not too quick but not having to wait ages between courses. This was particularly impressive as there was a surprise 40th party of about 30 people who took their seats just after us. How the chef managed it I do not know.
The food was first class and although we had previous reservations about the size of the servings, we were pleasantly surprised and by the end of the evening we were all 'stuffed' as the expression goes. We were all also very impressed with the range of dishes on offer for each course. Very innovative.
I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to any of my friends - we really enjoyed it - one of the best meals we have had.

I am a firm believer that if you receive exceptional service then that should be praised to the highest level. Last night I had arranged (at short notice) a surprise 40th Birthday for my wife (30 guests). I first met up with the general manager (Richard - sorry last name unknown) on Wednesday 11th January. Immediately, I was impressed with his 'can do attitude', his professionalism, his knowledge and politeness. His staff, from reception to bar staff where also courteous, helpful and extremely pleasant - and this was just whilst I was awaiting an appointment with Richard.
Richard helped me plan a menu and the itinery for the evening, even down to special dietary requirements for one of the guests.
Then came the evening itself. What can I say ?!!! Richard, his team of staff where nothing short of exceptional. The food the chef provided was first class - full of flavours and very inventive. (one small complaint - I never got to thank the chef personally - he deserved a BIG well done). The staff were attentive without being overley fussy, provided a first class service and every single guest commented on how lovely the evening was, how wonderful the staff were and how great the food was.
I do hope sincerely that this email reaches the highest level of Corus Hotels Group and that my feelings are documented to Richard and his staff.
Myself, my wife and children will certainly be going back to sample more of the same.
Huge congratulations and well done - thank you very much for a fantastic evening.

Outstanding is the only word to describe CU. The food, atmosphere & staff make for a really lovely experience. You name it they have it, so pleased the Hillcrest is in good hands once more and has a team that deliver on every level. Cant recommend highly enough.

We saw the head chef do a demo at the Cheshire Food Festival and were impressed so we decided to go and try the new restaurant. Glad we did - it was great. The service was quick and knowledgeable, the food was imaginative and would have fitted in any award winning modern British restaurant. Definitely worth a try
