Went for a curry here for a friend’s birthday last night and was very impressed by the food, service and atmosphere. Apart from a 45min wait (due to no reservations policy), we couldn't fault it and even came out with a free dessert with fireworks for birthday boy!

My Karahi chicken (Apna style) was fantastic and gigantic naan a centre-piece to say the least!

Will definitely be back for more!

Visited on Saturday night for a post-stag do curry and had a great time. Restaurant was packed out as per usual and we had some fantastic food. We even ate the "chef's challenge" and won! Will definitely be back and can't wait to go again!

Excellent service once again, we had a shortish wait of around 15 mins for our table to be ready and were handed one of those pagers, seems to be the rage these days.

Shahid was our waiter for the evening and was brilliant, the food was top notch.

Highly reccommend the lamb chops and chicken pakoras.

For mains we ordered lamb handi, lamb rogan josh, chicken tikka masala and chicken kharai along with mushroom rice and the obligatory family nan (garlic).

You can't go wrong with Akbars, my only grumble is that they don't offer reservations.

It may take you a while to get a table but when the food comes, it's exceptional!

Our party of 14 ate here last night Wednesday 20th May 2009. This was our second visit as Trafford Curry Club and once again the standard, service and food was excellent. This place is exceedingly busy even midweek and it is not difficult to see why! It is frequented by many asian customers as well so you know the food is top notch. Our party had poppadums, mixed starters and a variety of main courses plus drinks and our bill was £320. Overall we were once again very impressed. This is one of if not the best Indian restaurants we have ever visited. Thank you Akbar for a lovely evening.

Been to Akbar's several times now and never disappointed. The food is superb, with their chicken Tikka being the best anywhere. This is not the place to go for a quiet time, though, as it is insanely busy. This busy-ness and its popularity with young British Asians are a clear sign of the standard of the food.
