The Church House Inn
Traditional, British
[show 12 more photos]The traditional stone-built Church House Inn, on the edge of the Peak District, dates from Bollington’s origins as a cotton mill village.
Now it offers accommodation, food and drink with a warm welcome for business or pleasure, corporate or personal, to drinkers and diners who enjoy ‘olde worlde’ open fires with crackling logs and lively conversation in a cosy bar.
At lunchtime or evening, from à la carte to weekly specials, a selection of great dishes and local classics use the best locally sourced ingredients.
The dining room is available for private parties, functions or celebrations and there is a separate first floor function room.
There’s a great choice of beers - including lagers, stouts and traditional real ales - or an excellent wine list, a fine selection of malt whiskies and other spirits and liqueurs. Something for every taste and everything stored and kept in perfect condition.

We stayed overnight on 29 September after attending a Ruby Wedding Anniversary party in Buxton. We were made very welcome, given excellent food and attention. We would definitely stay at Church House Inn again.

I just stayed one night, but room was comfy and cosy; also, lovely breakfast on offer, even though I could only manage cereal. Good value.

After a long day walking we just wanted somewhere relaxing and easy going to eat and couldnt have hoped for better. The choice of menu and quality of food would shame a michelin starred restaurant. Beautifully cooked and beautifully presented. It was a cross between nouvelle cuisine and traditional country kitchen cooking. All the produce was local where possible. The scallop starter I had was the best I have ever tasted, they just melted in the mouth and the game casserole was AMAZING! Great choice of ales too. Highly recommend!!

Had not been for a couple of months we work abroad, last time we visited it was superb even with the distraction of 3 so called mature ladies given the staff grief, the owner chef gave them their marching orders. This visit was even better just great to have great beer, wine and food at the same place, keep the good work up.

Visited the church on 4th Sept for a birthday celebration, great pub atmosphere, along with quality food and great real ales. Nice to go to a proper tradional pub rather than so called gastro!!

Visited the Church House for the first time on Saturday 6th February with a group of friends. The food is of an excellent quality and we could not fault anything that was presented to us. A fantastic selection of beers wines and spirits compliment the delicious food. This is clearly a well-run establishment, and the owners & staff made sure that an great evening was enjoyed by all.
We will visit again in the near future.
