Absolutly loved it, best Indian food around
Mark
We used the 2 for 1 voucher last night...what a great restaurant. Food was the best Indian dishes I have ever had, really tasty stuff and good service. Not cheap but worth it!

Fantastic food - really is the best Indian around. Fancy getting away from the usual '5 pints and a curry type' of Indian restaurant this is the place.

We went here for a friends birthday, got to say this is the best Indian place I have been to in a long time. I had Butter Chicken very very good. Starters excellent and main courses not greasy. Tasty food.

We went last night for the third time and I think this place is getting better & better! Portion sizes seemed a bit bigger and we were also given 20% off as it was 6.30pm when we arrived. Having tried Dilli last week I have to say these two are probably neck and neck, both excellent - great to have two such good restaurants locally!

My partner and I just love quality indian food but found it so frustrating that we didnt actually have a restaurant in the local area we were completely happy with. At last a trendy upmarket indian with LAMB to die for in a local location. Service was excellent, staff very friendly, great atmosphere and a fab bar area to simply unwind in. The food really was top class. Perfect for fulfilling that indian craving.

Our 3rd visit, but this time with onion ring, Just excellent, nothing can be better then that....keep it up, we forgot to bring the onion ring voucher, but their staff really looked after us with offer, just great, i used to go other Indian restaurants....but not any more

All in all this is a lovely restaurant, the venue is handy, near enough to the Griffin for a nice drink beforehand, and a nice outside area if you want to be outside for a drink at Swadesh. The food was beautiful, starts and mains were both mouthwatering and just the right portion sizes so you didn't feel like you were just eating a take away at a table!
The alcohol is the most pricey bit, and to say we had one G&T with no Gin (melted ice cube yes gin no, but theychanged it when requested - could be a genuine mistake), one with Lemonade and one which was very weak - I'd advise Cobra!
Anyway, we went there for the food and it certainly was worth the trip, more pricey than the other local Curries, but 50% nicer too!

We decided to visit Swadesh on spec one night as we had heard that the dreadful Deckers had closed and been replaced by a 'posh Indian'. We were not exactly dressed for Bowdon but were pleased to find that the atmosphere in the restaurant was much more casual than outward appearances would suggest. The staff were very friendly and helpful but it is the food that will definitely have us coming back for more. This is not your run of the mill curry house - no lamb bhunas or strangely coloured 'pilau' rice here. Everything is beautifully fresh and full of interesting flavours. We had some fantastic dishes - tandoori fruit with a black pepper sauce, spicy cod with pomegranate seeds, a gorgeous lamb, mint and spinach dish which I had never tasted anything like before. In fact, I wa so annoyed at being full before I'd finished, I even took my leftovers home to have the nest day! All in all a great eating experience and one I would definitely recommend.

Excellent food, excellent service and great atmosphere, portions are also very generous, and also presented beautifully, what else could you ask for when dining out. me,my husband and kids really enjoyed everything about Swadesh and would highly recommend it to anyone that visits Altrincham, infact we learn lots of things about Indian food, for example i never knew that Roganjosh is dish which can be served only with lamb, we have recommended it to our co-workers and they have had the same experience as we have had. Good Luck swadesh and see you soon

The restaurant ceratinly looks the part - fantasticly refurbished with a contempary feel. There was a friendly welcome, and we had a drink in the seperate bar area for pre dinner drinks.
The service throughout the evening was excellent with the waiter always being on hand. Now to the food, starters were well presented, the tiger prawns stood out for me and the green sauce gave a welcome kick.
The main dishes, chicken korma and a spicy lamb one were again well presented. The korma was not overly sweet like they sometimes can be, and both dishes used good quality meat. The dal we had as a side dish was a nice accompliment and a livly addition to the meal.
Overall we were very impressed - good service, nice decor and great flavours.

Fab decor in a great location this upmarket Indian has almost got it made.
Still in the middle of a 'soft' opening so hitches are to be expected but no one asked for any feed back so here it is:
Bar area comfortable and service good but the bottled Cobra could have been a bit colder...
Starters were lovely (if a little salty ~ but I'm sure they'll sort that out) Chicken Tikka was among the best that I've eaten.
My family's mains were good but the rogan gosht was very poor ~ 5 small pieces of lamb in a thin salty sauce and at these prices ~ Ouch!
Overall great potential but at these prices everything needs to be a wow! even in Bowdon...
