This is a good, old-fashioned English pub. That pretty much sums it up. The cuisine of traditional pub food really did meet the expectations, and both the service and the beer selection was decent.

I have been in the English Lounge a fair few times after work for a few drinks but had never eaten there before. I have always liked it as it has a really great atmosphere and the decor is lovely. There is nice little fire which is nice to sit by in the winter when it is freezing outside and a heated smoking terrace which is covered over when it is raining! When we went for food I was expecting it to be fairly average but how wrong I was! I had scallops for starter... simply delicious! Then for main, chicken breast stuffed with halloumi cheese and sundried tomatoes, wrapped in parma ham! It came with a tasty side of potatoes which as I can remember were sauteed and a little salad. The rest of the party loved their food also! It was great value for money and they never fail to give good service!

Best choice for a good selection of Real Ales in Manchester. Cumberland, Doom Bar plus a couple more. Food and service is also good.

Called in for a drink and decided to try and get a table and a quick meal. The manager was a big help trying to squeeze us in. We both had a hearty pie, came with lots of chips and gravy (essential!)... the pies were delicious too. My Lamb and Mint pie was gone in record time.
Fantastic atmosphere, wonderful service, and the pies were yum!!

Busy place, we had a couple of platters between us, lots of food, the meat one was really good. Enjoyed it.
