We went here for the first time last night (after reading the other reviews here) and it was one of the best Indian meals either of us has ever had. Everything from poppadoms onwards were delicious, and the amount of meat we had in the starters and main courses was incredible. Even the house wine was superb, and not expensive. I was expecting a much bigger bill than we got - it's certainly in line with any other indian restaurant.
Decor is very elegant and location (just next to Harkers) is superb. Service was also extremely prompt - staffing is very generous.
After only one visit, already one of my favourite restaurants.

Went to this new resturaunt last week, I had the most amazing experience, me & my family had a fantastic experience with great food & drink as well as a canal view as we peacefully enjoyed the evening. Brilliant atmosphere, excellent & friendly staff, & good quality service. I have recommended this restaurant already to my friends & colleagues. I think barton rouge may be the best restauraunt in Chester!!!

After being wonderfully promoted by Manager Helen at Chester Races we decided to see for ourselves if this place was as amazing as she said. She was 100% correct both the Champagne Bar and the Restauant are truly just perfect, fantastic atmosphere, food and drink we had a wonderful evening, I will be recommending Barton Rouge to all my friends. Every one in Chester has been talking about this Restaurant so i thought i'd go and see for myself what all the talk was about. I must say, it is one of the most beautifull establishments i have been to in a long time. The decor was amazing both in the reastaurant and the seperate champagne bar. More importantly tho, the food and service was excellent..

Excellent service and food.
There is a lovely bar area to sit in and have drinks before your meal. A group of 5 of us ate and with drinks the bill worked out under £20 a head. Fantastic value for money.
Plus all the ladies got a rose to take home :)

We visited Chester on Tuesday and called in to the Barton Rouge as we were walking by. What a great experience! The food was excellent, really well cooked and presented. Staff were knowledgable, friendly and solicitous.Relaxed and modern atmosphere.Really enjoyed the evening.
