Halligan’s is a family-run restaurant in the heart of Oxton Village, serving modern and traditional British cuisine. Our food is packed full of flavour, presented tastefully, and is served with a smile by our attentive staff who will do their upmost to ensure you have a pleasant evening.

Housed in a Victorian terraced building in the centre of the conservation area of Oxton, Halligan’s restaurant is tastefully decorated with exposed brickwork, grand mirrors, and upstairs diners can enjoy looking at artwork from a local photographer. The upstairs dining area can also be used for parties and functions for up to 20 guests.

The menu utilises the best local produce and ingredients, cooked delicately to preserve the natural flavours. The menu is changed several times a year to utilise seasonal produce, and special menus are produced for the Christmas period and Mother’s Day, as well as other key events across the year.

Visited with 2 friends to celebrate a birthday on 9th March. Food was nice but not exceptional and definitely not enjoyed as the whole evening was overshadowed by the worst waitress we have ever come across. The lady who greated us and took us to our table was lovely and most friendly, however unfortunately she spent most of the evening serving upstairs. We were left with a young lady who never cracked a smile for the entire duration of the meal. When she brought the food to our table she sounded more like she was barking ordering us rather than enquiring who each dish belonged to. Not once throughout the whole meal did she ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything, even though our table was right infront of the desk (which she spent most of her time sat behind. We ate 2 courses and had one bottle of wine between us and gave up and left. It was the first time we had visited the restaurant and it will most certainly be the last.

Went to Halligans last Sunday. Great meal (as usual) at a good price. Despite the January 'fixed price' offer they didn't cut down on the portions and we only just managed to fit in a sweet. Staff, as always, are friendly and attentive. Recommended
