Kevin Miller (22/07/2010) says.... Such lovely food, a great atmosphere and great prices too. A 3 course meal for 2 people with wine for around £25 a head. I would happily go back time and time again. The only downside (and it is only minor) is the state of the toilets. They could do with a bit of love, apart from that. I cannot find fault with Nico@Jaspers
Alison Lysons (19/07/2010) says.... Lovely, friendly restaurant. Have eaten there the last 2 Fridays and might go for the hat-trick this week! Good food and wine, friendly staff and Nico always comes out to say 'Hello'.
Elisha from birchwood (10/07/2010) says.... I fully enjoy eating here, the food was great, staff were friendly and the atmosphere friendly. We will definitely be back again thank you for a lovely meal : D
Cathy (03/03/2010) says.... Already regulars, we dined at Nico@Jasper's on his first Saturday of opening at Stockton Heath, and will keep on returning (even though his former restaurant was nearer to home, it's well worth the taxi fare for the excellent food and hospitality!) We wish Nico all the best in his new surroundings and would encourage all wanting the very best tasting Italian food to visit!
Angela Evans Warrington (13/02/2010) says.... We have been visiting Da Nico's for the past 18yrs, we started just as he opened and the food is outstanding, we have introduced our children to the gastronomic delights that await you and they have never been disappointed. The service is very personal and the food cannot be rushed, it is a wonderful experience not to be missed.Thank you
oneill widnes (24/01/2010) says.... Don't let the fact that this restaurant only takes cash or check put you off it is well worth the trip to the bank beforehand we went on 18/12/09 for a family celebration the food was excellent and the setting made you feel you were on holiday chef and staff friendly and it was a great night.
Mrs Kenny (02/01/2010) says.... Me & My husband recently went to Da Nicos and had the most beautiful meal. The food was exquisite and the service was fantastic. The owner made us feel really at home and we will be back again soon. Many thanks for a beautiful meal. Lian Kenny
Alan Cheung, Warrington (14/12/2009) says.... Having being regular patrons of Da Nico for several years, we decided to hold my wife's 40th birthday at the restaurant. Nico gave us exclusive use of his restaurant for our 28 guests and what can I say, people are still talking about the party over 2 months on (Party was in October 2009). As always Nico's hospitality, service and fantastic food was second to none, nothing was a problem and it was a truly memorable evening. I would strongly recommend that you consider Da Nico for such an event, can't wait until my 40th !!!
Roz Morton (08/12/2009) says.... Nico's has the best pasta I've ever eaten. I'd like to go there more often but live too far away and only get to pop in when visiting somewhere else! This was my third visit, food and service was superb which is what I've come to expect!
Gary Warrington (29/11/2009) says.... Had a fantastic evening at Da Nicos. It was quiet when we arrived which made us think it might not be that good. We couldnt have been more wrong. A superb Italian Restaurant with quality fresh food. Nico is a star both in the kitchen and in the restaurant.
Ruth, Moore (22/11/2009) says.... We tried the restaurant last Friday for a change. Everyone was very welcoming (even though we had booked for quite late) and were very attentive. My son asked for his duck rare which he absolutely loved. This seemed to cause some amusement but he has french blood in him so he can handle it!!! The wine we had was delicious too! All together a very enjoyable evening and we will defintely be going back.
Paul, Runcorn
(01/10/2009) says.... Had a great night out. Well looked after by the staff, who even pointed out where best to park. Food was delicious and the menu included some interesting choices. Would definitely go again.
neil smith and emma taylor (25/09/2009) says.... we decided to try a new restaurant tonight and chose da nico's,as we stepped up to the door,we were greeted by the waiter who asked us which table we wanted to sit at(very important as not many do this).the whole restaurant was wonderful to be in,very cosy and welcoming, the service was second to none, the food was freshly prepared, the waiter made himself present all the time we were there and nico was a lovely man,we enjoyed our experience of da nicos that much that i have booked us in for next weekend and am bringing my family. not only was the food superb, the prices were fantastic. thank you for a lovely evening.
Kelly from Bury (14/09/2009) says.... Dined as a party of four on a Saturday night. The restaurant is lovely, real authentic Italian feel to it.The waiter service was excellent drinks brought within a few minutes and garlic bread while we were looking at the menu.Superb choice of food we all ordered from the specials board and it was absolutely delicious! The owner of the restaurant-Nico came to the table for a chat which was lovely and made us feel very welcome. An amazing Italian dining experience that i would recommend to anyone.
Chris, Milton Keynes (07/08/2009) says.... Eccellente! A diamond in the rough. Had a fantastic time, food was authentic and not over priced, the wine recommendations complemented the food perfectly. We ended up staying all night and were never made to feel un-welcome. Not only will I be going back, but I will be recommending Da Nico to friends and family.
warrington (01/07/2009) says.... Tonight we flew to Italy and had a wonderful authentic Italian Meal, tasty Pasta fantastic Pitza and drinking great Rose Wine and Tiramusu good Coffee and perfect service from someone who knows Shelly from Shellys restaurant having a night off . You should fly to Italy Da Nico Lovely Lane Warrington xxx
Ann Knight (24/06/2009) says.... What a lovely surprise. We were a bit dubious at first because the area is not best but the atmosphere, decor and service was spot on. We had a lovely meal and the service was second to none. We will certainly be visiting again. Many thanks Nico.
Andy Walton (19/06/2009) says.... Another excellent meal in the place where strangers are just friends Nico has yet to meet ! The food is authentic & quite frankly more Italian than the many chain restaurants we often see on our high streets. For a real slice of Italy, come to Warrington's original and best Italian Restaurant, Da Nico
julia rainhill (20/04/2009) says.... really friendly, good service. lots of vegetarian choice and willing to adapt menu to suit vegetarians unlike lots of places. recommended+ + +
Roz, Liverpool (18/04/2009) says.... Friendly service, well presented and tasty food, what more can you ask for? We don't know Warrington at all so just found an Italian restaurant on the internet and booked it for a pre-theatre meal - what a gem we found in Nico's! We'll certainly be back next time we go to Warrington.
Jessica Devon, Warrington (30/03/2009) says.... I have visited Da Nico twice this year (once with a friend and once with my daughter). Both times the experience was fantastic. The food was beautiful, the ambiance was great and the staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly. I would reccommend this resteraunt to anyone who wanted a little taste of italy, atmosphere and awesome food. Enjoy.
Alison, Warrington (18/03/2009) says.... Back to Nico's (our usual)- a warm welcome as ever & we got a sneak preview of the new menu, which looks really good. Excellent offer on - pizza or pasta plus a glass of wine & a cappucino for only £9.50. Th'usband had the usual - pasticcio de lasagne - apparently the best lasagne in the world & he swears that the portions are getting bigger. I went for a pizza for a change - quattro formaggio (only Nico put 5 cheeses on it & I don't know the Italian for 5!) - really delicious & highly recommended. We go there as often as we can - if you're looking for freshly cooked, authentic Italian food, you won't find anywhere better. Thanks Nico! Alison & Andy x
Tracey - Wigan (16/03/2009) says.... We visited Da Nico's on Sunday, we have been before and I can honestly say I wasnt disappointed, the food was excellent and so was the service, keep up the good work.
Gail Q-B, Warrington (18/01/2009) says.... We're lucky enough to live round the corner from Da Nico and it's our favourite place to go for Christmas, birthdays, parent visits, well, any excuse really ! It's the only authentic Italian in Warrington and you are assured of a warm welcome from Nico himself as well as excellent food and wine.
Moose, Bolton (31/12/2008) says.... Very nice friendly atmosphere, small, cosy and authentic. Good menu and the food is great. With good service. Definitely worth a visit.
Brian Sweeney - Warrington (19/12/2008) says.... My family and I ( 14 of us ) had a Christmas celebration at Nico's restaurant. It was fabulous. Authentic Italian cuisine, expertly prepared and presented. Everything, without exception, was thoroughly enjoyable, including the very palatable house wine - both white and red. If you are contemplating going to Nico's, don't just contemplate - go there!!! I am sure you will enjoy it.
Karen & Mike (29/11/2008) says.... excellent food, wonderful attentive staff. A brilliant experience, can't wait to go again. The only Italian restaurant in Warrington to eat at. Very authentic, lovely atmosphere.
Mike - Warrington (27/11/2008) says.... Da Nico's is a friendly place to eat where you are made welcome and treated to authentic lovely Italian food made with fresh ingedients and lots of care. This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. One well worth discovering.
Angela Reid, Waterford, Ireland (15/10/2008) says.... Having intended to go to an altogether different restaurant we were recommended Da Nico by our taxi driver and can honestly say he didn't let us down! The food was fantastic, reasonably priced and the welcome friendly and genuine. Will most definitely be back!
Mark & Amy (03/10/2008) says.... We visited Da Nicos for the first time last Friday, having read reviews on Onion Ring previously. We had been looking forward to a good meal all week and we werent disapointed with the venue, food, drink or host! We particularly appreciated the traditional nature of the restaurant. This is reflected in the decore and food. Nico spent time talking to all his customers and i know this personal touch is always well received. We would gladly recommend Da Nicos to others and look forward to our return.
Kathryn Hatton and Hatton Family, Widnes (11/09/2008) says.... Da Nico's Dining experience is one to behold, boasting fine dining in a relaxed and very warm and friendly atmosphere. The Hatton Family have been dining at Da nico’s for over 5 years and we have never had a disappointing meal there. The food is always to the highest quality cooked with flare and most of all passion, the balsamic prawns for starters are a personal favourite of mine which I shamefully must say I order on every visit. There is always a wide selection of inventive dishes on the special board to tickle the taste buds of even the pickiest of diners, which can be guaranteed to be a winner on your plate. Not only is the food spectacular but you are welcomed with open arms into a friendly environment which makes you feel at ease at once, you really feel like you have popped over to Italy and eating with great friends. Da Nicos is a real gem in Warrington’s Crown one you will come back to again and again.
Dylan Nieuwoudt (Warrington) (10/09/2008) says.... It was our 3rd wedding anniversary, and we wanted to go somewhere romantic and atmospheric. Da Nico was extremely friendly, meal was lovely and we had a very pleasent evening. We love Italian cooking, and thought to try it out. Highly recommended.
phil kelly (29/07/2008) says.... I had a very nice experience at Da Nico resturant. Firstly he was very friemdly and welcoming and made us feel very nice there was a wide selection of food and drink on the menu, and the meal was very enjoyable very tasty and he also kept us entertained while we ate i would recomend this resturant for anybody who likes italian food and drink or anybody that would just like a nice meal in a nice resturant. i would like to take this time to thank Nico for his hospitality thanks.
Adrian O'Connell Harrogate (12/07/2008) says.... My wife & I came from Harrogate to visit Liverpool during it's year of European Capital of Culture & we stayed near Warrington. Harrogate is not short of top class restaurants & we wanted to find something similar near Liverpool/Warrington. Google suggested Da Nico in Warrington & we booked a table for the Saturday night. Walking through the door the genuine Italian ambiance was immediately striking. The music, the tables, the aroma & the warm Italian banter put us at ease straight away. So far, so good, but what about the food? I started with the Bruschetta Tradizionale & followed with the Filetto Albese. Wow! Not since our last visit to Palazzo Catalani near Rome did I experience that taste. Succulent, mouth watering & when washed down with a warm full bodied Barolo, a true taste of Italy indeed. Was this really Warrington? Google, my friend, that night you did us proud. From now on the route from Harrogate to Liverpool will take a detour through Warrington....
Graeme Bailey (06/06/2008) says.... I visit Da Nico restaurant on a regular basis. The ambience is traditional Italian and a very cosy atmosphere is enjoyed by all. The food is without doubt the best in the area. Always freshly prepared, cooked to perfection and served in a friendly unfussy manner. I travel all over the UK/Eire and Europe and always look forward to coming home and enjoying another relaxed evening at DaNico. If you haven't booked a table before shame on you, it is impossible not to want to go back once you have sampled its delights.
Ian Lomax - Warrington (02/06/2008) says.... I've known Nico and his restaurant since he opened but for whatever reason not dined there for a long time except for last night and how glad to be back I was... I had the mushroom fondue for starter and it was execellent full of flavour and plenty of cheese. Then I went for the special of sea bass in oyster sauce and this sauce wasn't that dark MSG filled sauce you get from a chinese No this was made from fresh oysters abnd worked really well with the perfectly cooked sea bass..For dessert I couldn't go for anything else but Nico's homemade Tiramisu which was wonderful and creamy ,with a hint of coffee, even the kids liked it..Overall a truly wonderful meal in a great restuarant in terms of atomsphere and character..I won't leave it so long for a resturn visit...thanks Ian....
Sarah Warrington (21/05/2008) says.... Last time I went to Da Nico was with my support workers from college. I’ve been a few times before with my family and have always thought it was the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to. I’ve never found fault with it because the service is good and prices are reasonable. Nico is very friendly and him and the other members of staff have made me feel at home. I think that they’ve also taken into account the fact that I have a visual impairment. For example, it seems like Nico has attended to my needs because he offers to cut up my food. I would definitely recommend it.
Marek, Winsford Cheshire. (26/04/2008) says.... This was our third visit to Da Nico's. Reception from the Man himself was as warm as ever. We followed his personal suggestions and can only say the food is excellent! The accompanying wine was also extremely good and well priced. However if you require (and can afford!!), he has a red wines 'specials' board with some truly great vintages. We will be back again for a true piece of Italy on our own doorstep. Thanks Nico.
Lyndsay Green (14/04/2008) says.... We had a meal here for my Dad'd 60th birthday - a party of 14 adults and 1 toddler! We have been here a few times before and think it is wonderful. The food is outstanding, Nico's hospitality is welcoming and the restaurant typical Trattoria style. Having just returned from Venice, I knew I must write this review because Nico could give them a few pointers! Like I just said, this review should have been written a while ago but hopefully people will read it and think about taking bigger parties as well as going for intimate dinners. We have done both and Nico has never let us down. It is great to know you can take young children somewhere they are welcome (I personally wouldn't take them any later than early evening for other diners' sake -in case you are worried!!)and enjoy an authentic Italian meal. Thank you Nico.
andy walton (10/04/2008) says.... since our first visit around four years ago we are costantly surprises and delighted by the warmest of welcome and the quality of food you are always greeted like an old friend and nothing is ever to much trouble if you want to taste authentic italian food you cannot go wrong with da nico
Steve - Leicester (10/03/2008) says.... Due to the fear of waking up next to a horse's head i thought i'd better finally leave Nico a review. I've been spending one evening a week in Warrington on business since September and have tried many different restaurants (Company's paying so i'm like a child in a sweet shop!). Da Nicos is one restaurant i keep coming back to. To me the most important aspect of a restaurant is the food and at Nicos the food can't be faulted. Everything is very fresh, very high quality ingredients and always perfectly cooked. The choice is very good, i've hardly tried anything from the regular menu, something on the specials board always catches my eye. Ask what is homemade (pasta and desserts), steaks are always cooked just how you want them, i had a delicious fat halibut steak a few weeks ago, i would never be able to cook fish as good as that. Nico is very friendly and welcoming, I know he always checks onionring to see if i've left a comment so here it is and i'll see you on Wednesday!
David Turner (01/03/2008) says.... Lovely restaurant. I ordered a scallop linguini. Beautiful dish. Both the deserts me and my fiancee ordered where out of this orld. Tiramasu was gorgeous. Nico was brilliant. Very passionate about food. Had a lovely chat with him. Refreshing to meet a restaurant owner who is so passionate about food. Will be going to this place again for sure. Cheers Nico.
Paul & Jemma (31/01/2008) says.... absolutly fantastic! Food & atmosphere was excellent....Best italian we have been to in a while. The 2 10" garlic bread pizzas work a treat haha will see you again very soon Jem & Paul x
Andy & Alison, Warrington (04/01/2008) says.... We've been visiting Nico's restaurant for over 10 years & it's our favourite place to go for a meal. Nico is always friendly & attentive - even when he's busy - and makes everyone feel welcome. The food is great - Nico has simplified the menu recently but the specials board is always full & varied. Don't let the location put you off - you'll be missing a treat if you do.
ceri (04/12/2007) says.... great! i love it! friendly, fast and the food is gorgeous!
Tracy & John (20/11/2007) says.... what can I say about Nico's, in a word fantastic, we have been going to Nico's for over 10 years, we always receive a warm welcome, great food, great atmosphere, i would highly recomend this place to everyone, we always try and visit at least once a month. Nico himself always greets us with a warm and freindly welcome, i can't praise him highly enough. Thanks Nico
Alan&Susan Newton-le-Willows (07/10/2007) says.... Whenever we go we are always stunned by the food and the "ambience"-whether Nico is busy in the kitchen or not he always has time to say hello and welcome you.The food and place ooze Nicos personality and its great!Amazing wine selection too.No pretensions just good italian food.
Marc and Rachel - Warrington (30/09/2007) says.... We dine at nicos as much as possible.. For a true taste of italian food at its finest there really is no other Italian Restaurant that compares. The service is warm and welcoming and Nico is just as passionate about his food as the customers that dine there! You really wont find another restaurant with the personal touch that you get at Nico`s. Now onto the food. Every meal we have ever had has truely been delicious and to the highest standard. They have a wide variety of cuisine making it difficult to choose what food to order everytime you walk through the door. In all our time eating out we have never seen a specials board that changes so much! The home made Tiramisu as a dessert comes highly reccomended, but then again so do all the other choices. Please go and sample this amazing taste of italy! We can not praise this restaurant enough!
Phil and Jess (28/07/2007) says.... Although we had never been before, it didn't take us long until we both felt right at home. We kept having to remind ourselves that we were in england! The food and drink was divine, with a wide range of choice. Service was second to none. Can't wait to come back!
Tricia & John - Widnes (13/07/2007) says.... We visited Nico's for the first time last night and we weren't dissapointed. This is authentic Italian food, we had a superb scallop dish which we were sorry to come to the end of, and the pasta is wonderful and obviously freshly made. This is the best Italian food we have tasted. The restaurant has a warm and friendly atmosphere and the service is excepional - we will certainly come again - I highly recommend it to all. Thanks Nico, good luck for your continued success.
Louise, Warrington (18/04/2007) says.... Myself and my Husband, visited Da Nico's for the first time last Friday after reading the wonderful reviews on this website. We couldn't agree more with all the previous reviewers. The food was absolutely gorgeous, and the waiter service, and chef prescence was second to none. The staff, including Da Nico were so friendly and welcoming and we will definitely be visiting again! A brilliant 'specials' board catering for anyone wanting something a little different, as well as traditional favourites. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Gorgeous!!
Ray, Warrington (12/03/2007) says.... OK Da Nico, isn't in one of the most desirable parts of Warrington, but step inside to a little Italian haven. Small bistro style, good service and food - well recommended.
Jayne WARRINGTON (11/01/2007) says.... Visited the restaurant on an after-work event with colleagues. The staff opened the restaurant especially to accommodate our party. The service was excellent - they even altered the menu to suit our particular tastes. The food was excellent! The staff are VERY friendly and a good time was had by all. I will be visiting again.
Tracey Warrington (04/12/2006) says.... I have never been before but booked for my sons 18th birthday as i had seen good reviews. There were 14 of us and we had a room upstairs all to ourselves. The food was really good and the service was excellent, couldnt fault it, a good night was had by all.
daniel and nicola from st helens (11/11/2006) says.... Visited here with friends two weeks ago - food and service was fantastic. Will we visit - def. again. many thanks for a great evening.
Celia and John, Widnes (23/10/2006) says.... Myself and husband often go to this wonderful restaurant. Food, atmosphere, wine, price - everything is perfect - even Chef comes out to speak to you. Every time we have been - it has been perfect. Thank you & well done. Highly Recommend this wonderful restaurant.
Gill,Warrington (12/09/2006) says.... Our second visit to Nico's and just as good as our first which pleased us as took friends too.Although it was busy still attentive service, chat from Nico and excellent food. We'll be back soon.
Daniel, Warrington (03/09/2006) says.... Went to Da Nico's on Thursday 31st of August with some friends who have travelled through Italy, they currently live round the corner from what they describe as an "unsatisfactory" Italian restaurant. They like Italian and I knew just the place to take them, and they like me think that Da Nico's is the best Italian they have been to. Thanks go again to friendly and attentive staff, excellent food and a wonderful atmosphere. They will go again, and I will continue to go. Keep doing what you are doing, you do it so well.
Gill, Warrington (19/08/2006) says.... What a fabulous restaurant! The reviews are spot on, passionate staff and Nico is so keen to please and ensure your food is cooked just the way you want it. Having young children choosing a restaurant is very important, Nico's excells in all departments. The olives are to die for, steak just melted and the wine selection is super. Thanks for being so hospitable we'll be back, even one night with the bambino's!
Laura, Warrington (16/08/2006) says.... Best restaurant in Warrington. Thanks for a wonderful birthday meal last Friday. As a coeliac (intolerant to gluten) I was ecstatic to find Nico had bought me some gluten free pasta. Unfortunately i had already ordered a steak by then! The food was absolutely fabulous as it always is. My favourite is the Parmiggiana. Hopefully we will be back soon to have the gluten free pasta. Thanks Nico xx Laura xx
Chris, Warrington (15/08/2006) says.... I visited Da Nico with my fiancee on 10/08/2006 and I have to say it is easily the best Italian Restaurant I have visited in this country. Wonderful service by friendly staff obviously passionate about their restaurant and the food was absolutely superb. I've never been to a restaurant in this country before where the chef actually comes out of the kitchen after your meal to ask if it was OK and just generally have a chat. If only there were more places like this in this country where the patrons are passionate about their food, perhaps England wouldn't have such a bad reputation around the world food-wise. We'll definitely be back and will be recommending to friends!
julie, Newton-le-Willows (08/08/2006) says.... Da Nico's is exceptional! Not your typical 'packet mix pasta' that so many "italian" restaurants get away with. This is definitely freshly made pasta with fresh produce and exquisite sauces prepared instantly on site. Just viewing the menu choice will give an indication as to the top-class meal you are about to enjoy. And I have never been to another restaurant where the staff are so polite and courteous, you will feel unrushed and completely welcome. The experience of Da Nico is simply a dream! (especially compared to the many dreadful "Italian Chains" sprouting everywhere). I visit Italy and Sicily often and the food and ambiance at Da Nico's sends me right back there. It's perfect.
linda and stephen, warrington (26/07/2006) says.... we have been to da nicos on several occasions now and have never had anything but the best service and food. the food is fabulous and the meat and vegetable dishes are second to none! the red wine menu is vast and excellent..none of the usual supermarket stock often served at other restaurants. we visited venice last year and although the place was beautiful, we found no food or service to compare with Nicos. all we can say is keep doing what youre doing Nico..it's a success! linda & stephen
Daniel. Warrington (29/05/2006) says.... I went in Da Nico's on Friday 26/05/2006 with a couple of friends, celebrating pay rise. I will start with the restaurant itself, it felt cosy and I must admit straight away I though I would enjoy it here. The staff, both waiter and chef were courteous and very pleasant, I even attempted to get a few hints on how he kept the flavour of the salmon so fresh (no such luck!), then the food. I thought I had died and gone to heaven! I haven't had an Italian this good in a VERY long time, my friends all commented on the quality of the food and attempted to nick my salmon pasta! I would recommend this as a place to go for dinner, reasonable price in a nice atmosphere, excellent food and service. That good I am going back again on Wednesday!
Helene, Warrington (28/04/2006) says.... I've been going to Nico's for around 8 years on a regular basis - the staff (especially Pietro) are fantastic, the food is amazing and we always have a great time when we go. You are never rushed (unlike some other Italian Restaurants), you always receive a very warm welcome and you can have your table all night if you wish.
paul n sarah/liverpool (13/04/2006) says.... have been going here a while now great people n great food. Its a must try 4 every 1
GLENN&KAREN .NEWTON-LE-WILLOWS (12/04/2006) says.... JUST CELEBRATED MY BIRTHDAY RECENTLY AT NICO,S GREAT PLACE, NOTHING TOO MUCH TROUBLE ,FOOD FANTASTIC AS ALWAYS, SERVICE, THE BEST IN TOWN,THE STAFF , WELL, ITS LIKE EATING WITH YOUR VERY OWN ITALIAN FAMILY,THANKS NICO & PIETRO. GLENN & KAREN
Colin Parsons, Kirkcaldy, Scotland (11/04/2006) says.... I visited Da Nico's on Friday in a party of 6(coming from north of the border, I have no idea which 'streets' are the preferred dining areas in Warrington). The restaurant was extremely well presented and the staff very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent and I honestly cannot praise the chef highly enough. He obviously pays a great deal of care and attention to his food preparation and presentation. A huge pat on the back to all the staff, and I would definitely recommend everyone (whether visitor or local) to make the effort to visit Da Nico. The only downside to Da Nico's is it's so far away from my home........ :)"
Karen Mortin (19/03/2006) says.... My friend and I dine out almost every week in the Warrington area. About a year ago we discovered the delightful Da Nico restaurant and have been firm regulars (usually on a Wednesday) ever since.Da Nicos is one of the very few restaurants that has a high consistency of excellent food. We have never had anything less than a superb meal there. The food is simply delicious, with a wide ranging menu and specials. The service is discreet but friendly and the atmosphere is just what you need after a hard day at work. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Jane Stockton Heath (17/03/2006) says.... We eat at Da Nicos. 37 Lovely lane (Near Warrington Hospital) 2-3 times a week. This restaurant is fantastic. Nico is an amazing chef who knows how to cook real Italian cuisine, this is an authentic restaurant with the right balance.Yes it is on Lovely lane but I would prefer to dine for good quality food than pay for average or below and not be happy. All I see is people want to be seen in the restaurants in the village, want cheap food but COMPLAIN AFTERWARDS...... and keep going back.....I agree with the comments made by another diner. There are plenty of better restaurants in Warrington than them in Stockton Heath. At least a Da Nicos you really are a valued customer and it feels home from home.Keep up everything Nico you are a cut above the rest.......
DA NICO (17/03/2006) says.... well done alison from stockton heath your comment regarding the restaurants in the village is absoluteley spot on. thankyou we need costumers like you. Regards Nico at Da Nico restaurant
Dave and Claire, St. Helens (13/03/2006) says.... Was searching the net for a "real" italian restaurant and found this little gem. Food was absolutely gorgeous, service was excellent and its non smoking which is superb. It was hard to believe we were sitting in Warrington! Good to see a chef (Nico) who obviously takes great pride in the food he serves and comes out to see his customers. Will definitely be going back and I cant wait.
Craig Taberner (17/02/2006) says.... Fantastic little place, has a very homely, italian feel but also appears spacious inside with well placed tables, so your not sat on another couples knee! The food is excellent, very tasty and well presented. And the service was friendly and quick. definitely going again. 10/10
Richard & Maria Barlow (30/01/2006) says.... We both tried your restaurant 2 weeks ago and enjoyed the experience, my steak was a little tough in the middle but I did not mind too much as everything else was superb, you obviously have pride in what you do so I thought that maybe it is best that I tell you then you can have a word if necessary with your supplier. As previously mentioned, eating in your restaurant was a positive experience and we will return soon. Last night we ate at Piccolino in stockton heath, never again. Although the food was fine and the place appeared clean. The noise was unbearable and the white wine was overpriced and warm. No attempt had been made to chill the Pinot Grigio, even though it was presented in a bucket, there was nothing in the bucket and even that was warm. We would've had to shout at eachother to converse in there and I couldn't wait to get out, even after a few minutes. By contrast, your restaurant has an atmosphere typical of a traditional Italian restaurant, we will be back in March and April on our birthdays and very much look forward to doing so. Kind regards, Richard & Maria Barlow.
Richard Barlow (28/01/2006) says.... The atmosphere is the same as if you were actually in Italy, the food is of a high standard as is the service. Pricing is on the higher end of dining out for the average person but after trying out a local restaurant that belongs to a chain, for the atmosphere in Nico's alone, it is worth the extra. We will be returning to this restaurant in March and April for our birthdays, we both look forward to our next visit.
Warrington (across from da nico!) (16/01/2006) says.... Love this place, great food, great people, and it's only a minute away!
lorenzo warrington (05/01/2006) says.... our class went to Nico for a Christmas party so we can practice our Italian and enjoy Nico food which is always 10 out 10 thank you Nico for your Patience well done
warrington (17/12/2005) says.... went to Nico after a long absence and i have to say time goes on but this restaurant can deliver some tasty dishes i tried other Italian or 'Italian flagged 'and i have to say Nico is what you call authentic pity is not in Stockton heath
Heather Warrington (28/11/2005) says.... Once again this resturant never fails to deliver!! After travelling to Italy several times there is no where in the North West that can recreate the authentic Italian welcome, cuisine and atmosphere like Nico's. The reason? Italian from start to finish for no less than 12 years, from waiters, chef and owner all Italian. You are treated like family from the moment you enter this "Little Italy" until leaving after a momentous meal. Whether out for an intimate dinner for two or a pasta & pizza treat for the family this is where to go. Location pales into insignificance with a fabulous menu and extensive wine list like that presented at Nico's. Thanks again Nico. Its reputation not location that keeps your restuarant alive!!
j&by warrington (28/11/2005) says.... pleasant atmosphere friendly staff a good range of a la carte menu with daily specials enhanced by an extensive wine list. its nice to find an italian restaurant staffed and run by Italians serving good Italian cuisine, not a Mediterranean mish mash a little piece of Italy in warrington we certainly be going back
fay and bill warrington (27/11/2005) says.... highly reccomended this restaurant we have spent quite few evenings here and have even reccomended it to friends a great atmosphere and excellent food
gillyp warrington (26/11/2005) says.... this is a real gem of an Italian restaurant . just find it such a shame that it is not busier which would add to the ambiance maybe this is due to location which is not the most picturesque but is been open for over twelve years staggering the owner and the staff 'all italians'will treat you like a family and are attentive with out being annoying. i recently ate at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in London which was amazing but can honestly say that the food at Nico's is not far behind in taste and quality but a fraction of the price recommended
NEWTON-LE-WILLOWS (13/11/2005) says.... NICO,S IS REAL LITTLE PIECE OF ITALY.GREAT FOOD FANTASTIC ATMOSPHERE. SUPERB WINE LIST. NICO AND HIS STAFF ARE REALLY FRIENDLY AND NOTHING IS TOO MUCH TROUBLE THE SERVICE IS ALWAYS GREAT.A REALLY GREAT WAY TO EAT ITALIAN . FANTASTIC!!!
