Susan Chan - Meet the Owner
Work experience: Having been inspired by my mother and watching her work tirelessly in the trade, I also became involved from an early age. I was given the opportunity to open Peaches at the tender age of 21 and took it with both hands running. It was mostly trial and error in the first two years especially with staff and the menu. But 15 years later, the restaurant is still running and we have a tight knit team who are like a family to me.
Tell us about your current menu: We have a wide range of dishes on the a la carte menu - all of your Chinese favourites eg. black bean sauce, sweet & sour, and also a few more traditional Chinese dishes. We also offer an "All You Can Eat" menu throughout the week where customers can choose a variety of dishes for a set price. This has proved very popular as all the dishes are freshly coked to order and portions are smaller so they can sample different dishes.
What is your favourite dish on your menu and why: My favourite dish on the menu is Roast Duck, Cantonese Style. I love the smell when the ducks are hang roasted in the oven - it floats through the whole of the restaurant and ususally by the end, we are all salivating!!
What inspires you: Definitely my mother
Which is your favourite restaurant? (not your own): Samsi in Wilmslow but I think its now something else!
Big Brother or Question Time: Not Big Brother!!

Peaches is a well established Chinese restaurant, situated in the market town of Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire. We have been opened since June 1993. Our aim is to serve quality Chinese Cantonese food in intimate, relaxed surroundings with warm, friendly service. We have won awards for both our service and food.
We seat up to 60 people and are open seven days a week, for both lunch and dinner.
Our menu is extensive, alongside all the meat dishes, there is a good selection of seafood and vegetarian dishes. We also have an interesting wine list featuring wines from across the globe with an eye on finding the right wine match for Chinese food.
Whether you are looking for a restaurant for a business dinner, a family gathering or just a meal for two, we can suit your needs. Children are most welcome at Peaches.
