The Amalfi Coast of Anglesey

Well I must say, having returned from my Welsh adventures, I am still reminiscing my wonderful lunch I devoured last Wednesday at Dylan’s Restaurant in Menai Bridge.

Seeking refuge from the horizontal rain across the island, I stumbled upon this lovely little place right on the waters of the straits.

Dylan’s is a modern, airy, stylish restaurant overlooking the Menai Straits which in two weeks will be celebrating their first year.

With a menu full of homemade Mediterranean feasts plus daily specials, you’ll be hard pressed to find something you don’t like.

Waitresses were very helpful reeling off a vast selection of the specials and were attentive throughout. We started with a Drover’s Platter (£12.75) full of beetroot, hams, cheeses and various breads - delicious.

I opted for the Fisherman’s Friend pizza (£9.95) from the specials board for my main. Packed full of colourful jewels of salmon and hake, they worked well with the spring onions and sweet tomatoes. This was magnificent and tasted fresher than an actual Fisherman’s Friend lozenge.

We also had a lovely light trout special (£9.95) with pine nuts, pea shoots and homemade pasta; this was so simple yet craftily done! All washed down with a few Wrexham Lagers (£3.90).

If you’re heading to the lovely Isle of Anglesey this summer, make sure Dylan’s is top of your list for a first class dining experience....I am going back there this weekend for more!
