Monday 30th November -0001

Every Monday, why not bring your take-away in or have it delivered to the pub. Just because we don't do food on a Monday doesn't mean you can't. We'll even supply the plates and cutlery while you enjoy your take-away with real ales, wines and lagers.

About The Poachers Inn

The Poachers Inn is a pleasant and very friendly pub with rapidly growing reputation for good quality, fresh homemade food. One of the few true free houses in the local area, it has been created by merging half a dozen terraced cottages. Occupying a corner site, it is solidly built from local stone and blends well with its surroundings.

Well known for its window boxes and hanging baskets, the Poachers has won the "Bollington in Bloom" awards three times. It is situated at the very edge of the village, at the foot of Blaze Hill, a hundred yards from the Peak District National Park with both the Gritstone Trail and the Middlewood Way nearby.

The pub manages to combine the interests of diverse groups in a way which defeats modern designers. In the centre, diner and drinkers mix affably around the bar. By the door, the comfortable lounge chairs and open fire provide a warm, relaxing and surprisingly quiet niche where you can stare into the fire while enjoying a pint of real ale. To the rear, a large secluded beer garden for those rare summer days and evenings.

Advance bookings are advised due to the popularity of our homemade food, from weekly pie evenings to our famous Sunday roasts.

We endeavour to provide our customers with a varied and comprehensive choice of real ales, over 30 Belgium beers, single malt whiskies and a selection of guest brews from all over the country including Jennings of Cockermouth, Daleside of Harrogate and Shepherd Neame of Kent.

This has now been recognised and rewarded by our addition to the Good Beer Guide for the last 8 years.
