Decided to eat here on Saturday night (16th Nov) after an afternoon of walking. As always the beer was excellent and staff welcoming. Food was plentiful. The soup was excellent as we're the mushroom starters. I had the fish which was crispy , white and flaky. My wife had the gammon. Which was very tender. My only complaint was that the chips and mushy peas were far too stodgy and much too much meaning lots of waste which looked bad when the main part was very good. Now I know why the other diners ordered the light meals . Eat here again but will just have a salad and garden peas. The chips are the fluffy dry kind if you like me prefer the use of waxy potato varieties.

Passed by after a country walk. This is a great traditional pub. Bar staff were very friendly, we sat outside in the beer garden. The food was inexpensive and really tasty. Portions were large, and the food was quality. So much better than the pre cooked Millers Kitchen type places that are everywhere.
