Total Score:
This is a great pub serving fine real ales and traditional home cooked pub grub such as steak puddings, pies, slow roasts, big fat chips all fresh using locally sourced produce. The family who run it are really friendly they welcome kids, dogs and groups of muddy walkers, there are 3 real fires which give the the place a lovely atmospher. They have live music events every other weekend and every couple of months tintwistle brass band play in the pub which is a real treat and quiet a site!

Total Score:
The new owners are really onto something with this place, serving hearty pub food in traditional pub setting--perfect after a long walk. We had Sunday lunch there and can't recommend it highly enough. The atmosphere is really welcoming and the food is excellent. All the meat comes from Mettricks in Glossop so by eating there you also support other local businesses, and the quality speaks for itself.
