We went yesterday with kids, really nice looking place now. Good service throughout and we were made to feel welcome, despite 3 small kids! Food was very decent, chocolate sponge dessert could have been bigger but overall very nice

Six of us went to the Jolly Thresher for the first time last night. The decor was very smart and the staff very friendly and helpful. A wonderful idea (for the men) was a pint of thirds - three one third pint glasses of your choice of draught beers. An excellent way of sampling. Good choice of wine for the ladies, too. The food was of very good quality indeed. I had rump of lamb off the specials board and sincerely believe it's one of the best pieces of lamb I've ever had. Portion sizes are large! All diners were very happy with their meals and drinks. Not so sure about the live music on a Friday, though; a bit loud for old timers like us. I thoroughly recommend trying this out.
