About Shoulder of Mutton

Welcome to the Shoulder of Mutton, a 17th century public house steeped in history. Part of Lancashire Taverns, these lovely country pubs stock some of the best in cask conditioned ales, home cooked food from one of the North's best young chefs, and an atmosphere that brings together old world charm and contemporary hospitality.

Enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of an 18th century pub in the heart of Holcombe Village on the rugged West Pennine Moors. Our real fire is always burning to keep you snug and cosy. For warmer days we have two outside areas. Children, walkers and well behaved dogs are very welcome. We are proud of our pub and look forward to meeting you.

Whether you want a quiet drink, a quick lunch, a leisurely family dinner, or just somewhere to meet friends… the Shoulder of Mutton is whatever you want it to be!

Total Score:
the food was delicious, the fish was fresh and the service was extremely pleasant. Overall a very good experience, I would recommend and I will certainly return. I didn't give a ten because I thought the restaurant looked very uninteresting (the decor) - but this by no means distracted from the yummy food.
