Forest Side takes over Hipping Hall



For one night only, on Sunday the 20th of December, the team from our new opening in Grasmere, Forest Side, will be running the show at Hipping Hall. This exclusive event will provide a glimpse of what will be on offer when we finally open in January.

Head Chef, Kevin Tickle and sous chef, Martin have been working hard to put together a fantastic 6 course menu for the evening. Dishes will showcase Kevin’s clean and precise approach to modern cooking, and will feature produce grown in our walled kitchen garden at alongside flavours foraged from the surrounding countryside.

The magic will start with a glass of fizz, some canapés and an opportunity to meet your chefs and fellow diners. You’ll then move through to the dining room for what promises to be a superbly memorable meal. All dishes will be matched with wines or perhaps something more unusual by our sommelier to complete the experience.

A ticket to this exclusive event will be £120 per person, which includes all food and drinks served with the meal. We have also put a great overnight package together with prices starting at £299 per room.

Brent, and his team in the kitchen take great pleasure in producing fabulous food perfect for the rugged borders of Lancashire, Cumbria and Yorkshire.

We serve two menus every evening in our wonderful 15th Century Dining Room. We offer a seven course tasting menu and a three course table d'hôte menu. The Table d'hôte has a choice of four dishes for starter, main course and dessert but we always have other dishes up our sleeves. Both menus burst with local and seasonal flavour and all dietary requirements can be catered for.

We've taken as much time choosing our wines as we have sourcing all of the ingredients for our menus. We are rightly proud of the list and hope you enjoy looking at what we have to offer. Alternatively, you can let us do the hard work as we have matched glasses of wine to every course of each menu.
