Double AA Rosette River Restaurant and QMS Skin Spa offer luxury deals to treat your loved one

As a location which sees frequent wedding proposals, the five-star Lowry Hotel has long since been a romantic destination for couples, and love is in the air this month with a host of intimate events.

The River Irwell will provide an idyllic setting for starry-eyed couples to enjoy one of three specially designed dinner packages at the double AA rosette River Restaurant and Bar, available from 11th – 14th February.

Couples can choose between a silver, gold or diamond dinner package, priced at £85, £110 and £130. Each package includes a five-course tasting menu, and either a glass of prosecco, a cocktail and bottle of prosecco or a cocktail and bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne.

The specially selected tasting menu promises mouth-watering dishes such as pan seared scallops with chorizo and artichoke puree, lobster & crayfish arancini nero and locally-sourced slow cooked cannon of High Peak lamb with parsnip puree.

Alternatively, couples preferring to share a sweet afternoon can enjoy a special Valentine’s Afternoon Tea. Guests can sample a selection of finger sandwiches and freshly baked scones, followed by signature themed treats including red velvet rose cookies and strawberry and cream opera cake.

Executive Head Chef, Andrew Green, said: “Valentine’s Day should be about spending quality time with your loved one and showing your appreciation for each other. Both our tasting menu and special afternoon tea have been designed to give couples an intimate, romantic and indulgent experience.

Exclusive Valentine’s Yin and Yang cocktails will also be available in The River Bar, so couples can start the celebrations with a romantic drink whilst taking in the serene views of Santiago Calatrava’s Trinity Bridge and the historic riverside.

For those wanting to treat their other half to the ultimate pamper experience, the luxury QMS Skin Spa is also offering a special couples package with a full body massage in the comfort of their tranquil, candlelit couple’s treatment room.

After the treatment, guests will be welcomed to wind down in the spa’s relaxation room whilst enjoying a bottle of Prosecco with chocolates and strawberries. The Valentine’s package is priced at £120 per couple, and includes entry into a draw to win a meal for two in The River Restaurant.
