Recipe - The Ultimate Cranberry Sauce from Piste Sandbach




Maple Coated Cranberry, Apple & Port Sauce
Perfect for making a couple of days in advance allowing you a more relaxing Christmas!

Add 150g maple syrup & 2 star anise to a pan.

Allow the syrup to lightly bubble and add 350g fresh cranberries.

Watch to see the caramel blister and begin to break down the cranberries.

Peel, core and thinly slice 2 apples. Add them to the pan and season with salt and pepper.

De glaze with a good splash of port (or orange juice for alcohol free version). Add the zest of an orange and a squeeze of the juice.

Cook on a low heat for 5 - 10 minutes to thicken. Store in the fridge once cooled.

Serve at room temperature on the big day!
