The 2019 Pizza Idol Competition – Champion of Champions

We held the Pizza Idol Champion of Champions on Thursday 14th March where all the previous winners over the years went to the Ring O’ Bells, Christleton with their winning pizzas to see which one will return!
Previous winners over the years from Christleton Primary and High School and Waverton Primary School came along to the Ring O’ Bells to turn their pizzas once again into reality. Together with the pizza chef Lee Hall, they created their ideas and experienced what it is like to cook in a professional kitchen.
Each pupil created a pizza that was unique and delicious, so it proved extremely hard for owner Ian Wade and Head Chef Andy King to choose a winner. As the standard was so high, they eventually decided on two winners! Tamsin O’ Keefe’s “Chunk of Cheshire” from Christleton High School whose pizza will be going on the a la carte menu and Jessie Angrave’s with her “The Amazing” from Christleton Primary School whose pizza will be going on the children’s menu.
Tamsin O’ Keefe created “Chunk of Cheshire” which features Bacon, Blue Cheese, Spinach, Mozzarella, Red Peppers, Cherry Tomato and Red Onion on a Tomato Based Pizza and Jessie Angrave created “The Amazing” which features Pepperoni, Goats Cheese, Red Pepper, Black Olives, Mozzarella and Fresh Basil. These will be on the Ring O’ Bells new spring/summer menu, which launches on Tuesday 2nd April.
Owner Ian Wade said “It was fantastic having all the previous winners back and seeing all their great creations again. Thanks to everyone involved, we can’t wait to get the pizzas on our new menu!”

Thanks must go to the team at the Ring O’ Bells for organising the event again, the pupils for their imaginative ideas and a special thanks to Christleton Primary & Waverton Primary for their support and involvement.
