Unleash The Beast From The East



A trip to Japan at the tail end of last year got our head chef Fred thinking. Could the classic principles of Japanese cooking - the super-savoury flavours of soy and miso, the tanginess of traditional pickles, and a true appreciation of great beef - make for a burger with unusual influences that was still very much a proper hamburger?

And so Bunzilla was born - East meets West, in a glazed bun.

This full-of-flavour beast (a distant cousin of the B-Rex) consists of 6oz of freshly ground British beef, cooked pink and finished with a soy glaze, plus rashers of miso-glazed bacon, wasabi mayonnaise and an onion ring for crunch and sweetness - all on a bed of shredded white cabbage.

Sliced Japanese-style pickles on the side are the finishing touch.
