The London Carriage Works carries away another taste award!
The London Carriage Works, one of Liverpool’s most acclaimed restaurants, has secured the Highest Quality Assured VisitEngland Taste Accreditation from Taste Northwest – for the second year running.
“Receiving this rating as well as the Loves Local award once again is a fantastic boost and our teams are delighted with the achievement” said Executive Head Chef Dave Critchley.
VisitEngland Taste Accreditation from Taste Northwest assessed by Quality in Tourism adds to an ever-growing list of accolades, including two AA Rosettes in the past successive five years, for the iconic restaurant, sister to the neighbouring Hope Street Hotel in Liverpool city centre.
“The London Carriage Works is dedicated to sourcing, locally and regionally, the very best ingredients available and the quality and freshness of these ingredients are an inspiration for each season's menu” added Critchley.
“Taste Accreditation puts an official stamp on this commitment for both customers and suppliers. ”
The London Carriage Works joins other successfully accredited dining venues in the North West and can distinguish itself to customers with a presence on www.tastenw.co.uk as well as Taste Northwest’s mark of quality promoting quality assurances in food and service.

Additionally, The London Carriage Works will now be able to take part in Taste Northwest’s Talented Young Chef and Host initiative by hosting a dinner, helping promote young people in hospitality.
The assessment criteria for securing the VisitEngland Taste Accreditation and Loves Local Awards is based on the quality of food, use of locally and regionally sourced produce and ingredients, as well as excellent customer service.
Scoring is based on:
• First and last impressions of the exterior
• Bar and restaurant facilities and décor
• Cleanliness in all areas
• Hospitality and service efficiency
• Food quality and presentation
• Imaginative creative dishes using seasonal produce and or ingredients
• Use and mention of locally or regionally sourced produce and or ingredients
Assessments are carried out on all types of eateries including;
• Cafes
• Inns
• Pubs
• Restaurants
• Tearooms
Each participating business receives a written report and overall score after the mystery assessment by Quality in Tourism the assessment service for VisitEngland.

The London Carriage Works is a multi award winning restaurant serving modern British dishes complemented by the use of local, fresh and seasonal produce.
The London Carriage Works acquired its name when during external renovation works the original company name became apparent in the stonework. The company was a coach and carriage builders and built around 1866 in a pervading fashion of the day, the Venetian palazzo.
The restaurant is sister to hope street hotel and is open to the public seven days a week, from breakfast to nightcaps, with lunch, afternoon tea, supper, dinner and cocktails in-between. In house we also cater for many varied events from wedding suppers to meetings and corporate dining.
The restaurant is dog friendly - All dogs allowed sofa side, with guide and assistance dogs in restaurant as well.
