Sessions Ale Success for Local Pub Partnership
With the opening of The Old Sessions House now imminent, restaurateurs Paul Newman and David Mooney celebrated their affiliation with Gregg Sawyer of Knutsford-based Tatton Brewery by getting hands on their Sessions cask ale.
Located on Princess Street, the Old Sessions House Pub & Kitchen is scheduled to open at the beginning of September. The second venue for the successful New Moon Pub Co, the Old Sessions House, run by dynamic entrepreneurs David Mooney and Paul Newman, will pride itself on buying from local producers for the majority of its top-quality culinary ingredients, and their specially-commissioned cask ale is no different.
With a renowned family-run business, the Tatton Brewery, on the doorstep, Paul and David decided to commission some real Cheshire cask ale to take pride of place behind the bar at the new venue.
Explained David Mooney, co-owner and chef patron of the Old Sessions House: “Tatton Brewery has a well-deserved reputation for draft and bottled beer, and we’re delighted to be working with Gregg and the team. We can’t wait to get our laughing gear round the Sessions Ale!”
Said Gregg Sawyer, owner and head brewer of Tatton Brewery: “We use an historical local yeast to brew traditional and contemporary beers in a modern brewery, so the Sessions Ale will be a perfect fit for Dave and Paul's style. It’s great to be working with the New Moon Pub Company team, and everyone in Knutsford is really looking forward to the opening of the Old Sessions House.”
If you’d like to taste the specially-commissioned Sessions Ale for yourself, it will be on draught at the Old Sessions House from the opening day, 10th September.
