New Head Chef at the Roebuck

Local lad Steve returns to make The Roebuck “the greatest” in Mobberley
THE new head chef at popular Mobberley pub-restaurant The Roebuck has only one aim - to make it “the greatest”.
Stephen Kanaris started his career at The Roebuck and is now returning having carved out a fine reputation across Manchester and Cheshire.
All food is freshly sourced - so fresh in fact that Steve can even go and see the livestock on the Mobberley farm on a daily basis. With his wife Melissa the general manager, the pair want to take out the “special occasion” dining and put a bit of “everyday fresh and unique” back into the local village.
But don’t be alarmed, special occasion diners are well looked after in the form of Steve’s extensive food knowledge and catering for wedding/christening/birthday parties is always available.
And all menus written on a monthly basis to suit seasonality and the typical British weather.
Steve said: “Being back as head chef at The Roebuck is a great step in my catering career, knowing and loving the village is just a bonus.
The Roebuck has always been one of the greats in Mobberley, its time to make it the greatest.”

About The Roebuck

The Roebuck pub and restaurant is an attractive Grade II listed building, nestled in the Conservation Area of Mobberley between Knutsford and Alderley Edge and is one of the suburbs most favourable and attractive dining locations. The multi award winning venue is owned by Manchester restaurateur Chris Hume who has recently taken over the newly refurbished restaurant and given it a socialable pub feel with a flair of elegance and top quality cuisine.

The venue boasts a sociable dining and drinking area, a picturesque outdoor three tiered garden and a 60 cover upstairs dining area for a more relaxed restaurant atmosphere. This space will also be used for celebratory occasions, private hire, wine tasting and other culinary events.

Locally sourced ingredients are showcased on the new menu which is an array of traditional and contemporary dishes to satisfy different preferences and palates. It's the perfect hub for all meat-lovers with 24 day old prime steak, locally sourced game and fresh organic farmhouse chicken cooked to perfection on a rotisserie. The restaurant is very keen to support and work with local businesses, featuring guest ales from local villages such as Knutsford, Macclesfield and Congleton on their beverage list.

The extensive wine list has a wide selection of new world and old world wines offering an eclectic range of different tastes, textures and grapes from European vineyards. The Prestige Wine menu lists 12 high-end wines from Burgundy and Bordeaux which have been handpicked and selected to give all guests a contemporary and elegant added value dining experience to compliment the a la carte menu, intentionally priced at retail rather than restaurant prices, the aim is to encourage all to experience the finer end of wine drinking!
