Comedy Night Comes to Cheshire
The Roebuck Inn is showcasing their first Irish themed Comedy Club night on Thursday 14th March with comedians Paul Sinha and Caimh Mc Donnell taking centre stage.
Paul is an international comedian currently featured on ITV’s quiz show The Chase. Paul has also appeared on television programmes such as Worlds Stand Up, Comedy Shuffle and Comedy Cuts and has an army of fans and followers from his Radio 4 and Radio 5 appearances.
Caimh McDonnell has firmly established himself as the white-haired Irishman whose name nobody can pronounce and has made his name internationally doing stand-up tours of the Far East, the Middle East. Off stage, Caimh is in great demand as a writer for TV. He has recently worked on the hit BBC2 show The Sarah Millican Television Programme and the Sky sports/comedy panel show A League of Their Own.
The Roebuck Inn is an attractive Grade II listed building, nestled in the Conservation Area of Mobberley between Knutsford and Alderley Edge is one of the suburbs most favourable and attractive dining locations. The multi award winning venue has a sociable pub feel with flair of elegance and top quality cuisine.
All guests will be welcomed to a compere and treated to one of the pubs signature dishes - a hearty serving Irish stew with tender lamb simmered potatoes, root vegetables cooked to perfection accompanied with picked red cabbage, whilst being entertained by Paul Sinha and Caimh McDonnell.
The ticketed event is in aid of The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust with proceeds going to the charity on the evening. The Children's Adventure Farm Trust is based at the beautiful Booth Bank Farm, a 17th Century farmhouse set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. They provide a variety of programmes for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North West.
The needs of the children visiting The Adventure Farm range from complex and severe physical and learning disabilities, sensory impairments and terminal illnesses through to children who act as Carers for a family member, those dealing with bereavement and children who have been victims of abuse. The Adventure Farm is a lifeline to children who are in desperate need. The charity pride themselves on bringing a little light and fun into the lives of children who have known terrible hardships at such an early age.
The Roebuck Inn’s Events Manager said:
‘We have a host of events in the next coming months such as a Steak Club and wine tastings, but the Comedy Club is a night of fun, food, entertainment, celebrating everything Irish and supporting a great cause. It is set to be a monthly feature on tour event calendar.’

Locally sourced ingredients are showcased on the new menu which is an array of traditional and contemporary dishes to satisfy different preferences and palates. It's the perfect hub for all meat-lovers with 24 day old prime steak, locally sourced game and fresh organic farmhouse chicken cooked to perfection on a rotisserie. The restaurant is very keen to support and work with local businesses, featuring guest ales from local villages such as Knutsford, Macclesfield and Congleton on their beverage list.
The extensive wine list has a wide selection of new world and old world wines offering an eclectic range of different tastes, textures and grapes from European vineyards. The Prestige Wine menu lists 12 high-end wines from Burgundy and Bordeaux which have been handpicked and selected to give all guests a contemporary and elegant added value dining experience to compliment the a la carte menu, intentionally priced at retail rather than restaurant prices, the aim is to encourage all to experience the finer end of wine drinking!
