you wont find a pub like this the food is excellent especially the lamb and leek pie (pure bliss) Gordon the landlord is so friendly and keeps his beers in tip top condition. Spent many a happy hour in the Boars would advise anyone walking Middlewood Way to spare an hour or two and call in, you'll certainly go back.

I have been visiting the Boars Head on a regular basis over the past 12 months and have not had a bad meal yet. The quality is consistantly high. I would recommend the Mince Beef Pie, and to go with it a pint of Black Sheep or Wainwrights. Proper Pub grub.

Really good local pub - good location by Middlewood Way for walkers . Lovely home cooked food (no bought in pies here ) and big portions too - need to walk it off afterwards !!
