About Lovels Bar & Grill

Lovels Bar & Grill has been named after the Lady Lovel a 15th century aristocrat who resided in Upholland as “Lady of the Manor” during the Renaissance period. That era in history reflected a change in ideals and involved blending classical and modern elements to define this age. We at Lovels Bar and Grill pride ourselves in upholding the same sentiment of keeping tradition but moving with the times. In refurbishing the bar we exposed many of the original features dating back to when the house was built in 1654 for Mrs Holme and this guided us in the design. We have used soft grey and creams from the Farrow and Ball range, which complement the contemporary fabrics that have a velvety feel in rich brown, old gold and turquoise colours.

We were looking for somewhere as a halfway point to meet some friends and find this hotel restaurant on Onionring. We sent on a Saturday night and it was busy but our booked table was ready and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The menu had a good choice and the food was good, the men had steak and the ladies fish. All in all we had a good evening. A good choice considering we did not know the area at all.
