About Pecks

Pecks has long been renowned for its dramatic style of presentation, transforming the restaurant into a "Theatre of Food" and providing a unique and complete dining experience.

Dinner menus change each month to accommodate the very best seasonal produce, with many ingredients sourced from the surrounding verdant countryside, grown and reared by trusted local suppliers.

All our dishes are freshly prepared by a kitchen brigade led by Head Chef Les Wassall, a Pecks veteran of over 10 years, highly skilled in complementing classic British cooking with innovative and assured modern touches.

Dinner service offers a set five courses with choice on Tuesdays and Wednesdays or a spectacular seven-course dining experience on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

One word summs this place : Stunning. Food, service, choice, it's in a league of it's own. Not cheap but you get what you pay for and this is by far my first choice of any restaurant in the area. Fabulous!

Total Score:
We visited Pecks on a Wed night. It was a fantastic evening. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. The decor is lovely, welcoming and warm. Most importantly the food ... The food is outstanding. It's well presented and perfectly cooked. The idea of presenting the menu choices to the table is novel but genius! The only downside is that I wanted every choice that was presented to us. The highlight of the evening was dessert and thankfully we were allowed to have a choice of 2 desserts. Even better you can take your own wine!! I would and already have recommended this restaurant. It was well worth the 50 mile journey and every penny and we will definitely be revisiting this restaurant again. 10 out of 10.

I visited Pecks with my wife for the 1st time after hearing a lot about it over the years. I have never been sure that the unusual (to me) format of 7 courses, all sitting down together was for me, so we ‘tested the waters’ with a Sunday lunchtime visit. I couldn’t fault a thing. The place is beautifully presented, I assume recently decorated. The staff were excellent and most importantly the food was beautiful. My wife was of the same opinion and having taken 6 years of living locally to try this place for the first time, we will not be waiting as long again until we return. I am certainly tempted to give the full 7 courses a go next time. If you have thought about going and so far resisted like I had, give it a go, like us, you just might love it!
