Well we are at the time of the year when one of the most prestigious event held in Liverpool takes place. Destination Africa hosted by the international business federation, Held at the Cunard buildings Liverpool. This is a high profile conference integrating urban cities creating a platform for African countries and business, dealing with the growth of the economy creating better standards, within several different industry and sectors, to demonstrate the opportunities across the African continent. It will act as a facilitator with interactive sessions and information, providing a comprehensive route for investors and companies wishing to do business in Africa’s growing economy. I arrived at the event to report and talk to some of the people at the event discussing some of the problems that African business come across. One of the things I found was the theme was Africa and this year the authenticity of the food and drink was at a high standard with snacks like Nigerian Chin Chin, Nigeria meat pie, I spoke with the chef Andrew from the cultural catering company and what was apparent to me was his passion for African food setting the bar high by providing an array African based canapé’s As there is no presidence set for this it was a first, The canapés where of an exceptional quality I tasted something called moi moi this delicious vegetarian delight originates from west Africa and I’m told that traditionally this is made with bean shoots blended with onions peppers and garlic spice by African chilli flakes then steamed with a boiled egg in the middle. Adding the cultural twist Andrew thought if it would be great to take the traditional ingredients and give them a makeover following his said philosophy cooking food the plain & simple way maximizing the flavours while providing easy to cook style. So the moi moi cake was created for the culinary art of African finger food. The public raved about the food and drink with beers brewed in the south of Africa all round it was a great networking event.
