Mario's
About
Mario’s is nothing short of a Bacup institution. Chef-patron Mario has been at the helm of this traditional Italian restaurant for 35 years and it’s been in its current location on Market Street for a quarter century! Mario hails originally from the Adriatic port city of Pescara so no surprise that fish features prominently on the menu. He also trained as a butcher before leaving for England aged 18 so you can expect top-quality mains – based on the best locally sourced produce – alongside plenty of pizza, pasta and risotto options on the a la carte menu. Popular choices include the Italian-style spare ribs to start and the King prawn linguine. There’s also a special midweek three-course meal deal. Mario’s is open for midweek lunch Tuesday to Friday and in the evenings from 5.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
