Peckforton Castle is a finalist in the 2013 VisitEngland Awards for Excellence



Peckforton Castle has been named as a finalist in the ‘Large Hotel of the Year’ category of the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2013.

As a finalist Peckforton Castle now goes forward to the glittering Awards Ceremony, which is being held on 20 May 2013 at The Point, Lancashire County Cricket Club, Old Trafford, Manchester.

Peckforton Castle will have to wait until then to find out which award they will receive. All finalists are guaranteed to receive either a Gold, Silver, Bronze or Highly Commended Award.

Commenting on the finalists James Berresford, VisitEngland’s Chief Executive said:
“I would like to congratulate all those nominated as VisitEngland Awards for Excellence finalists this year. We received 320 applications and the quality of submissions was higher than ever. It is therefore no small achievement for Peckforton Castle to become a finalist and justifiably take credit and pride in earning a coveted place in the top five in their category in England. I wish everyone all the best for the final in May”.

The ‘Large Hotel of the Year’ award is being sponsored by NatWest.

Now holder of three AA Rosettes and a Taste Cheshire Award, the 1851 Restaurant treats diners and guests of the Castle to a gastronomic extravaganza featuring carefully selected, locally grown and reared produce, including Cheshire salmon, cheese, Goosnargh duck and local beef.

Our Head Chef, Mark Ellis is passionate about using only the finest ingredients available to him. These have been sourced, where possible, here in Cheshire and his creativity is demonstrated by bucking the myth about old and new not mixing!

Our wine list offers a delightful journey through the vineyards of the world and boasts a wide range of grapes including sparkling wines, such as the playful Italian prosecco to an elegant and indulgent Dom Perignon.

The deep, plush carpets, tasteful decor and tables adorned with crisp linen and beautiful tableware - all against the magnificent backdrop of Peckforton Castle's impressive architecture - add a welcome touch of magic and glamour to every meal, making every dining experience a very special occasion.

Sunday lunch is available all day from 12.30pm with last orders at 8.45pm. In the evening, the a la carte menu is available from 6.00pm onwards until 8.45pm Parties of 10 or over can be accommodated later than these times but must be pre-booked through the sales office.
