BAKERIE bread & wine bar has gone down under!

Renowned for its freshly baked bread menu and eclectic wine list BAKERIE opened its doors in 2011 and has grown in popularity over the last five years so much so the owners have added a new level to cope with demand.

Co owner David Cook says that due to increase in trade for extra bread baking classes and wine tastings it made sense to open up our wine cellar to the public, in doing so it means we have an exciting new space to host classes and private events. David teaches bread baking classes having honed his skills down to his late great grandfather Henry Cook who baked bread for none other than the King of England. The first striking image that greets you in the new cellar bar is an 18ft pixelated image of his great grandfather standing outside his bakery in Luton with his horsed drawn cart ready to deliver the goods.

BAKERIE was the first wine bar in Manchester city centre to house a sixteen bank wine preservation machine which they affectionately nicknamed their wine jukebox. Pop in on wine Wednesdays and you can play their jukebox, double your credit / money and have your very own impromptu wine tasting.

Head chef Kevin Rivers is excited by the expansion and looking forward to experimenting with late night dining options and also is set to host a very Toronto style long table dining experience meaning up to 40 customers can sit and break bread together at the same time.
