Charity Night a big Sucess at the Thai Lounge

The Thai Lounge’s Charity Night on Wednesday 18th June to raise money for Christies, and specifically raise money for the research in lymphoma. The event was in the memory of Mr Mark Mason who recently died from a form of cancer which affects 1 in 3 people in the UK.

The story read out from his Mark’s widow Lorraine was a very touching one that captured the hearts of the guests and brought home the reality of a disease that we are battling to find a cure for.


It was a fun evening as you can see from the picture.

The event was a sell out event and raised £1500 and were supported by Phoenix Thai Boxing Gym who put a Thai Boxing display on, We also had a very fun ladyboys of Bangkok show performed by Ko a former employee of Tiffany’s the world famous show from Thailand who travelled from London to help raise money. The resident barman also did a spectacular cocktail flair show and we imported goods from Thailand to sell on the evening in a night market which was outside under a Gazebo and finished off with some Thai Karaoke singing from one of our chef’s.


A raffle was also organised, with prizes donated from the Thai lounge (some Villeroy and Boch champagne flutes) a 3 month pass from Total Fitness Gym, a voucher to the value of £285 from Whitefield Laser Clinic, a box of goodies from Singha beer from Thailand and 4 tickets for the Kylie Minogue tour in July.


We finished our fund raising with a special sealed bid auction courtesy of the thai lounge for 4 parties of 4 to attend the thai lounge cooking school of excellence which officially opens in October at the soon to be opened restaurant The Buddha Lounge in Ramsbottom Bury (which specializes in Chinese and Thai cuisine).

One of the winners Mr Ken Higgins is pictures with our head chef ready for his cooking lessons which will see 2 groups go up against each other in a cook off style competition with all participating finishing off eating the banquet they prepared and drinks courtesy of the thai lounge.
