Byron Introduces Latest Special - Shady

This September will see the launch of Byron’s new special, Shady. Inspired by the classic cheeseburgers at the iconic Shady Glen diner, near New Haven, Connecticut, this new addition to the menu is available from the 9th September to the 10th November only.

Shady is made up of a 6oz patty, a double dose of cheese – some crunchy, some melting – and classic New England-style toppings: a swipe of sour pickle relish, a little finely-diced white onion, and some ketchup, all inside a classic glazed bun (£9.95).

“After we got back from New England, I knew I wanted to create our own version of a really classic cheeseburger. What we took away from Shady Glen wasn’t just how good the famous crispy cheese was, but the very nostalgic, incredibly satisfying flavours. With Shady we’ve taken those old-school elements and created a modern version of a timeless burger” explains Fred Smith, Byron’s head chef.
