Café Istanbul Celebrates 32nd Birthday with Launch of New Private Club/Dining Room
Café Istanbul, one of Manchester’s most established restaurants, is to celebrate its 32nd birthday with the launch of a new private club/dining room.
The popular Bridge Street eaterie which has been serving fine Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine since 1980, today announces further expansion with the launch of a large private dining and club room.
Interior designed by Bernard Carroll (Panacea, San Carlo, Cicchetti) to offer a sophisticated and intimate feel, the club/dining room is located downstairs from the restaurant and seats 50 diners with ease. Boasting a feature bar stocked with beers, fine wine, spirits and champagne , the room is available to hire (free when dining – minimum numbers apply) from noon until late for private dinner parties, corporate events, launches and special occasions. Dining is offered from the restaurant menus and live music and DJ’s can be accommodated.
Owner of Café Istanbul, Sacit Onur, famed for his warm hospitality, has welcomed and retained a loyal range of regular and celebrity diners throughout his thirty two years in Bridge Street – from Ray Winstone and footballing legends Eric Cantona, Peter Reid, Norman Whiteside and Viv Anderson.
Commenting on the birthday and launch of the new club/dining room, Sacit Onur said:
”We’ve lived through so many changes in the city, alongside our own. When we opened in 1980 we truly were a Café, we quickly expanded as we grew more popular to the large restaurant, bar and now private dining and club room we have today. We decided to create the new room after searching high and low for somewhere to hold our own staff party – we couldn’t find a private space in the city big enough for a party with a sit down dinner, yet still intimate and stylish. Hotel function rooms feel so bland, so we built our own and the feedback already has been incredible.”
Perfect for a quick lunch, a group dinner party or intimate dining, Café Istanbul is renowned for its warm, inviting atmosphere. Bar, lunch and a la carte menus have been designed to please all – from light dishes to fresh, chargrilled, spit roasted or slow baked specialities such as slow baked apricot lamb, chargrilled sea bass fillet or the hugely popular mixed chargrill feasts to share. All dishes are created in our open kitchen, using only the finest ingredients.
