Central Perk opens its doors to its Chester Friends

Nine years after Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey stopped entertaining millions worldwide with their lives, loves, and laughs of six young friends living in Manhattan, the sitcom and its devoted fans still remain the best of friends.

It all began in 1994. Friends opened in a New York coffee shop where five twenty-something’s were hanging out, when Rachel burst in wearing a wedding dress, having left her fiance and looking for the support of her childhood friend Monica.

While there was several settings that became familiar during the 10 hit seasons of Friends. It was the coffee shop, Central Perk, where all six gathered each week that would become the show's defining location.

The Chester venue opens its doors on Thursday 18th April night for a VIP opening and is located on Bridge Street at the site of the old Santander Bank. There are a vast range of American products on offer at the venue and Central Perk owner Kane Russell, promises “Great coffee, fantastic cakes, American style deli sandwiches, sodas and chocolate from the States, homemade fudge, chocolate and pastries, and regular events like open mic and film nights.”

“If the Liverpool Central Perk is anything to go by there will be a really great mix of clientele from business meetings to students hanging out after class.” Added Kane.

The new site has created 10 new jobs from part time to full time and will also be available for private hire.
