Hollyoaks girls gather for Gogglebox star's birthday bash

Leon and June from Channel 4's Gogglebox were joined by Hollyoaks cast members tonight as Leon celebrated his 80th birthday at the launch of Liverpool's trendy new Chinese restaurant, Chy.

Stars of the soap including Jorgie Porter, Gemma Merna and Stephanie Davis presented the couple with a birthday cake as VIP guests helped celebrate the reality TV man's special occasion.

Leon, who has become a cult figure on the Channel 4 series, partied with the Hollyoaks girls as Liverpool's movers and shakers gathered at the swanky venue.

Other guests at the bash included Shameless' star Tina Malone and female Olympic boxer Tasha Jonas.

Adam Wan of Chy Liverpool said, "Leon clearly enjoyed his night on the tiles with Liverpool's glitterati. It got quite emotional when everyone in the venue joined in to sing 'Happy Birthday'.

The new restaurant is located on 5-9 Renshaw Street, Liverpool, L1 2SA.
