Still Investing in Chester
Despite the current economic gloom and doom which is sweeping the nation, a local business is still investing in Chester City Centre.
The owners of The Coach House on Northgate Street last week commenced works on the refurbishment of nine ensuite bedrooms above the popular restaurant and bar. The development is due to finish by Easter and will cost approximately £200,000. The first phase of the development, which was completed in July 2007 cost circa £500,000.
The bedrooms will offer comfort and style to guests as well as views of Chester Town Hall and cathedral. The traditional hotel rooms will be great value and in a very convenient location for visitors to Chester.
Les Owens, Company Director, has said ‘we are trying to keep the rooms traditional but with all the modern conveniences required today. The Coach House is a project of which we are all very proud, and we are all extremely excited about this next phase.
I have lived in Chester for over ten years and am a great believer in the potential of the city. Through the planned regeneration and development of the city centre, Chester is definitely becoming the place to be.’
There has been a coaching inn on the site of The Coach House since the 17th century, and the refurbished restaurant was launched in the summer of 2007.
