New Tequila and Tapas Bar in the NQ ‘Hood'
El Capo to open Spring 2014 at 12 Tariff St. in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
El Capo is the newest addition to Manchester’s Northern Quarter. An original concept designed and developed by owner, Peter Skelton. The new bar and restaurant will provide an authentic South American atmosphere with Latin influenced beats and works of art and design that captivate every aspect of the vibrant and fascinating culture.
Initially stocking a range of over 70 tequilas, a menu of 21 craft cocktails, select sharers, and weekly bespoke cocktails designed by our own bar team. Skelton’s extensive background in the industry will ensure the very best of service with a belief that every guest should feel like they are being welcomed into his home; just one of the many components of El Capo that will set them apart from the rest of the Northern Quarter bars.
“The key to being a good barman is to treat every customer like they’re walking into your home. Sometimes I feel that customer service is thrown by the wayside; there is this expectation that people will come just because you’re the new place in town. I plan to personally ensure that all our guests (not customers), will feel more like they’re at a mates house and not just another ‘hip’ Northern Quarter bar.” - Pete Skelton
Late April sees the grand opening of El Capo’s hedonistic cellar restaurant, when head chef Troy Amador (Chorlton Green Brasserie, Harbour Master, The Copper House) returns from his travels in the American Southwest, Mexico, and South America where he has immersed himself in the culture of all things Latino.
The restaurant menu will boast a large array of authentic South American tapas as well as a selection of traditional Mexican street food, all using the freshest ingredients and finest spices.
