The wait’s is now over, and the cat’s now out of the bag!
El Gato is the latest to open in Manchester after a star studded launch last week.
“We’ve taken care to make this a venue that will appeal to those looking to drop by for half an hour over a selection of tapas and a glass of wine or sherry, as much as it will for those taking time to enjoy a bigger occasion. We’re very much looking forward to opening our doors.” Simon Shaw.
The focus here is relaxed dining and drinking. A beautiful setting; whether you're dining downstairs by the charcuterie counter and bar or upstairs looking over the open-plan kitchen, it's a fine looking restaurant.
It doesn't stop their either as their top floor cocktail bar has a stunning retractable roof for al fresco dining and starry night drinks.

Welcome to El Gato Negro, an award-winning tapas restaurant and bar. We've relocated and recently opened our new home in a beautifully-converted historic three storey building on King Street in the heart of city centre Manchester.
Founder and chef patron Simon Shaw creates seasonally-influenced dishes, combining modern and traditional Spanish flavours and techniques while taking inspiration and ingredients from closer to home. Our food is perfectly complemented by a superbly-chosen range of Spanish wines, sherries, spirits, tonics and beers.
