January’s focus is Navarra….
Navarra is Rioja’s not as well know neighbour, producing similar quality but generally better value wines. Unlike Rioja the Navarra DO (governing wine body) allows winemakers to blend grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and chardonnay into their wines producing greater variety in wines...
We found a multi award winning bodega called Otazu at last years Pro-wein show in Germany. We will be showcasing these wines, some of which are PAGO classified which is the highest in Spain.
Navarra is perhaps best known for its fresh and fruity rosado wines which are regarded as the best quality rosé wines from Spain. Otazu produced two, a deep full bodied Merlot great for red wine drinkers wanting a hearty rose and a light blush tempranillo version that stands up well again any of Frances Provence region well known blush rose wines.
Our owner and wine expert Jane Dowler would pair the Otazu reds with Jamon Iberico or steak/lamb dishes. Otazu Chardonnay with goats cheese, and the deep rose’s that this region produces with some of its well known vegetables such as white asparagus, artichokes and sweet smokey piquillo peppers.

Evuna originated back in 2002 as a fine wine house with a main interest in importing fine Spanish wines from boutique wineries.
Now, our first and main restaurant aims to offer you the finest in Spanish food and drink with food ranging from tapas to a la carte, originating from the central regions in Spain.
Our signature dish is sea bass baked in rock salt which is then fabulously filleted at the table, and all our produce is cooked fresh daily on the premises.
At each location we also offer a wine merchant service where customers can take their favourite wines home with them by the bottle or buy the case, along with monthly wine tastings. In our small shop area you can browse our offers whilst enjoying a glass of wine and some tapas.
