GAUCHO MANCHESTER CELEBRATES ITS RECENT REFURBISHMENT AND IT’S ‘BEST RESTAURANT IN MANCHESTER AWARD'

Zeev Godik, founder of the hugely successful Gaucho group of restaurants is delighted to announce the refurbishment of Gaucho Manchester. Opening its doors the new interior will continue to showcase the restaurant group’s signature cowhide leather laden interiors and crystal chandeliers, evoking the sophistication of Buenos Aires nightlife.

Gaucho Manchester opened in 2001, the only existing Gaucho outside of London, chosen suitably for Manchester’s reputation for vibrant nightlife and discerning diners. Gaucho’s site is one of Manchester’s most impressive restaurant spaces; a grade 2 listed building which was originally a church.

Incredibly high ceilings and split level dining add to this dramatic space that encompasses a striking modernist design. Patsy Godik, the Creative Director and interior designer for the Gaucho Group has restored the original elements of the church including a magnificently refurbished church organ and the original choral gallery, transformed into a lounge dining area that is also available for VIP hire. The restaurant can accommodate 180 with a private dining room and that seats 16.

A new edition to the restaurant will be ‘Cavas de Gaucho’, also scheduled to open in the early year. This wine boutique will house the most comprehensive collection of Argentine Wines in Europe, overseen by head sommelier Phil Crozier. The Cavas will not only house wines available to buy as featured on the menus at Gaucho restaurants, but also a selection of beautifully hand crafted wine accessories and luxury gourmet products from Argentina. Visitors will be able to taste the wines in-store as well as enjoying unique vintages by the glass in a relaxed 'cavas' like space.

All Gaucho restaurants are well known for their superb Argentine beef. The Argentine Aberdeen beef is top-class thanks to the adequate moisture, mild climate, rich soil and vast pampas terrain on which it grazes.

Gaucho Manchester recently awarded Restaurant of the Year in the Manchester Food & Drink Festival 2007 in association with the Manchester Evening News.
