Mel poshes it up in Hale and finds she could get use it

Family birthday, where to go - somewhere different for a change, but needs to be not too far from where the clan live, 'Shall we try Hale, how about the Hale Kitchen'. Why not, great reviews on Onionring, good Oring offer on and looks a glam place.

So we are are in midweek, arriving about 7.30 ish and the place is already at least half full, a few cocktail drinkers at the bar so nice atmosphere. After a friendly welcome we are seated and presented with the menu, now they do a set menu which is a bit of a bargain or a la carte - dishes are 'modern British' mostly. Anyway on to the food, I went for a smoked haddock risotto to start which was lovely.

Mains I went for the set menu rib-eye and of course a peppercorn sauce, I have to say this was one of the tastiest piece of meat I have had in a long time and the sauce was delicious, not too peppery and not too bland - spot on, oh and good chips as well. Talking with the others, we were all really impressed, and no-on could find a single fault with anything - which is pretty rare with my crowd.

We had some decent wine which wasn't over priced. If this is the standard in Hale I can see why the the restaurants are so popular, With all the good for and drink, and a touch of glam, I'm thinking we'll have to posh it up to the suburbs more often.
