Ciao Hale!

Piccolino, the Italian restaurant and bar, arrives in the village.

Piccolino, the renowned Italian restaurant and bar, is opening its latest 150 seater venue in the heart of Hale next month, in the former Sinclair’s building, on Ashley Road.

Individual Restaurant Company plc, one of the UK’s leading restaurant operators and the group behind the hugely successful Restaurant Bar & Grill and Piccolino restaurants, is expanding in Cheshire with an investment of £1.4 million and the creation of 60 new jobs at its latest venture.

Like its popular sister restaurants, throughout South Manchester, Piccolino will offer great Italian food in stylish surroundings with the atmosphere of a bustling New York brasserie.

The restaurant has a striking classic Venetian design featuring sleek green leather chairs and banquette seating set against a sophisticated black backdrop, reflecting the typical “dolci vita” Italian lifestyle. Open from mid-morning until late in the evening it is the ideal place to relax and enjoy a fresh Illy coffee accompanied by the restaurant’s famous tiramisu, a leisurely lunch or early evening drinks before dinner.

“We are delighted to have found this excellent site right in the heart of Hale village” says IRC Chief Executive Steven Walker, “and are keen to showcase our newly designed Piccolino to this vibrant area”.

Development Chef Alessandro Cristiano, the former right hand man to Giorgio Locatelli, who is responsible for testing and evolving seasonal dishes as well as reviewing the main menu to ensure the Piccolino offer is up to the minute, says

“Piccolino promises to bring Italian food as it should be to Hale. We pride ourselves on making everything from scratch; our bakers bake bread daily, we have a dedicated fresh pasta making station on the premises, which can be viewed from the restaurant, and even our ice cream is made on site.

Classic Italian dishes made from fresh ingredients is what Piccolino is all about.”

For those customers looking for a more intimate dining experience the restaurant also has a private dining room which can accommodate up to 12 guests, making it the perfect setting for birthday parties, business events or intimate dinner parties.

Alternatively, for those customers brave enough to make the most of the last bit of summer the al fresco area at the front of the restaurant is the perfect spot to enjoy a fresh peach Bellini or a glass of chilled prosecco!
